The dudes willingness to just waste plays is really unbelievable.

Yes, this has been an issue for quite some time. It seems like he loves to run that inside draw from the shotgun on first down simply just to keep the other team honest.

It's like he thinks running out of the I with Eddie and a lead blocker is just too obvious. That's football. This is what we are going to do, try and stop us. I loved that Ahman Green, Wahl, Rivera, etc. team that could just ram it down people's throats. That 1800+ yard season for Green is one of the most underrated in team history.

Lacy is no Ahman Green and this line isn't the run blocking unit that line was.

That said, i do like when the offense takes more snaps from under center. My biggest complaint is running the hurry up with R.Rodgers and the three starting receivers. He sucks as a receiver and blocker. When doing that hurry up, it keeps him on the field every down. It's almost like going 10 guys vs 11 on defense.

This is a solid win.

The Defense has surpassed the Offense. We have a dominant Defense and an average offense. That's pretty weird.

Although dominant should have an asterisk because we still have some fixing to do with the secondary. Although capers is trying to make our front 7 so good that it doesn't even matter what's going on in the backend.

As Rilaman said, remember those Giants Superbowl teams, there secondary was decent, but not awesome, but their front 4 was insane. Eli would do just enough to win, and the D would keep them in every game.

We don't have the Giants Dline, but Capers has a lot of weapons at his disposal and he's using all of them. Perry, Peppers, Claymaker, Jones, Daniels, Fackrell, and even Elliott are causing trouble back there. Then Martinez, Thomas, and Jake Ryan are cleaning up the rest.

Thomas has made a couple of really nice plays, he definitely caused a 4th and long which lead to a punt (decided to not use the phrase forced a punt because of Twrily). Glad to see Thomas and Ryan looking very good in their early sophomore seasons.

I wonder if it's because our D was bad for so long TT invested so much in the D on draft days that now things are starting to tilt the other way:

1st round picks from 2006(after the unofficial start of the Rodgers era):

2006: AJ Hawk
2007: Justin Harrell
2008: No pick
2009: BJ Raji & Claymaker
2010: Bulaga
2011: D. Sherrod
2012: Nick Perry
2013: D. Jones
2014: HHCD
2015: D. Randall
2016: Clark

9 Defensive guys over a decade, 2 offensive guys.

5 defensive players in a row since 2012.

The defense seems to have a bunch of solid guys, the oline is pretty stacked at the moment, but we are weak at the skill positions.

RB seems thin, lacy is good but starks is crap this year and there is literally nothing behind them.
TE is thin. Dick is OK, Perillo is below average, cook is hurt. There is not much here.
WR we have 7 but NONE of them can beat their man on a regular basis??? I don't get our WR situation.

Are Jordy and Cobb just above average players and the rest all below average? Jordy had a crappy game, Cobb was productive when necessary, Adams played better than his crappy 2015 self, and the rest we don't really even know.

Did Ty get a snap at WR, I only saw him at RB a couple times.
Did Trevor get any looks? Did Janis do anything? Did Abby get more than a couple ST snaps?

What is the point of having 7 WRs if you only use 3 for 90% of the snaps.

The offense is better than 2015, but still something is not right. I hope they figure it out soon. Or they need to change their philosophy to leaning on the D to only give up 20pts a game and have a controlled offense to score 23 pts a game or something. I dunno this team is still taking on a personality. So far it's the defense that's winning (as long as we get the corner situation figured out).

My only concern with the parts of the team that are strengths, is beyond 2016 what will happen?

Peppers, Perry, Jones are part of an awesome rotation but all 3 are FA's.
the Oline also has JC Tretter and Lang looking for big money as well.

Personally I wanna sign Perry soon. He's looking too good right now. Every week he's one of the best players, he's better than Clay Matthews right now. Maybe Clay is slowed with injury or they are not letting him play his full snap count, but Perry has made a bigger impact on this team than Clay. We are in a must sign position with him and every week he looks like he needs a bigger contract.

Even Clay's sack was helped by Perry. Perry caused pressure on one side and forced Eli to move right into Clay's arms.

I'm fine with Lacy when he's healthy and if they can him involved in the screen game again like in 2014. I agree Starks is not the change of pace he used to be. I really wish we had a running back like D. Freeman. When you watch ATL they seem so explosive with their stable of recieivers and the threat of Freeman hitting a home run every play. He's so shifty and fast. We haven't had a back like that in a long time. It's obvious we desperately need a speedy WR. Obviously a guy like Diggs in MIN would be perfect. I think Abby's lack of snaps and with Davis and Janis getting snaps before him shows how bad they want the home run threat back. Problem is Davis is young and not sure Janis will ever be smart enough to play a big role in this offense. It's obvious Jordy is not at full speed. He could get back to it but it might a slow transition for him to a slot guy over the next couple years. I think it's honestly time for Mike and Aaron to swallow their pride and say we're not a big play offense any more and at this point we don't have to personnel to be one. The first 2 drives with different personnel groups every play was genius. They really need to shift to a patriots style system that helps the players get open. Hell even the patriots get big plays with as much short quick hitter passes as they run.
