I think 9-7 makes the playoffs one way or another.

That would mean Packers holding the tiebreaker over the Lions, Lions having 5 losses, and only needing 2 more while playing @ Cowboys, @ Giants, and @ Saints.

Or Washington could lose 3 more games and finish 8-7-1. Play 3 road games and vs. Giants + Panthers. They're going to give ground.

I'll take a 9-7 finish at this point.

Drives me nuts that so many people here can see something so obvious, but over the last two years, the staff and team can't figure out how to do that week to week.

Also, way too much Starks and not enough Montgomery in that backfield. Seeing what the Steelers are doing with Bell and what the Cardinals are doing with David Johnson, we really need to be using Ty like that, and not just having him run two yards out and turning.

Yeah, having a RB out of the backfield vs a LB is enough of a mismatch then you add in that Monty is actually a receiver. They really haven't explored this enough. If Monty catches that screen pass that Starks totally screwed up, he probably takes it to the house.

I haven't verified it, but I heard if we finish in a 3-way tie at 9-7 with DET and MIN, and as long as our loss isn't to one of those teams, we win the division.

That would be correct because that would make us 5-1 in the NFCN, and that's the first tiebreaker.

I still think it's too little too late, but this is why any talk of "tanking" in the NFL is always stupid. Do the unlikely and go 4-1 the rest of the way, sneak into the playoffs with a hot Aaron Rodgers, and you still have a pretty decent shot at getting to the Super Bowl. I'm just glad that I finally got to watch quality football on both sides of the field again. Prove me wrong Packers.

I really haven't seen anyone wanting us to tank until we are out of it.

I guess if the choice is tanking vs. finishing 8-8 and out of the playoffs, I'd rather tank. But the NFL doesn't work that way, and Rodgers is too good to even give the tank a chance to get fired up.

Even with how terrible we started the year, if:

1. MM can call the rest of the reason like he did last night on offense (we gave them looks we haven't shown before)
2. Our MLB's can get healthy and play better
3. Our CB's can get healthy, play better, and "get on the same page" as our safeties

We have a chance. All of that is reasonable, especially considering the NFC sucks this year outside of Dallas.

Only issue with last night was Starks getting 17 carries despite getting stuffed time and time again.

I'm glad Mac ran the ball more last night, but Ty is a much better option at this point. Heck, Christine likely would've been more productive, despite not knowing the whole playbook.

Starks is pretty much done, IMO.

Yes. We'd win it based on our divisional record which currently only has one loss.

If we finish 9-7 while winning against Detroit and Minnesota we'll make the playoffs assuming Detroit gets beat one more time outside of us

Well your post about "messing up our draft position" is pretty damn close

Anyone else see Clay calling that hit a cheap shot? May be in the minority here, but I thought that was not a cheap shot at all. Great hit. Got to keep your head on a swivel out there.

So it only took MM what.... 20+ games to call it like so so many of us have begged for the last 1.5 seasons?

Quick slants, quick releases, wr screens, dump offs, check downs, take a shot once in a while deep.

I mean it was a fantastic offensive approach, but it wasn't fing rocket science, pretty much everyone was saying get back to the wco.

It was a pleasing victory, but that defense still sucks. Randall and Rollins were back so we were only down shields in terms of starters and we still got burned and guys were wide open everywhere.

Those four first round draft pick pass rushers sucked ass for 3.5 quarters. Worse yet against BACKUP OLINES.

The sacks at the end were garbage time sacks. I mean seriously, who the **** knew Allan Barbre Was Still In The League. He Was Trash In GB.

Clay Matthews Looked Slow. How Many Times Was He Chasing Wentz And Couldnt Get Him? How Did Wentz beat Him To The Endzone? How Many Times Was Clay 5 Yards Deep Into The backfield Watching The Rb Cruise Downfield?

I Guess We Need To Give Him The Benefit Of Being RUsty At Ilb ANd Being Slowed By Injury But At His Salary He Sucks Compared To His Production This Year.

Goddamn This Phone And Weird Autocaps That Happens Sometimes.

Regarding Davante, I'm really happy to see him produce.

I was excited about his potential in 2014, he was showing flashes of being pretty good, I had big expectations for 2015, and was horribly disappointed. By mid 2015 he was the most infuriating packer player, him and richard rodgers were both slow and terrible and especially Davante had bad hands.

Davante didn't show a lot in the summer, I was pretty much done with him.

My goodness how he's turned around. He's still missed some balls, but he's caught most of the big ones, and he's showing fantastic burst and route running off the line.

I hope it continues and he completely restores my faith in him, he's had probably the best season of our WRs. Would have never imagined that.

Also, so happy MM garbaged that awful no huddle no substitution lineup from 2015, where he kept the same personnel the entire drive, running the same 5 plays over and over again and everyone saw it coming and it became the easiest offense on Earth to defend. The fact he kept it for so long is mind numbingly painful, but at least it's gone. Now he's gone the other end and using everyone and every play, hell they ran the goddamn option play! I'm OK expanding the playbook and using different formations. Give defenses different looks and things to think about, rather than the same stale crap for 60 plays.

I had closed the door on this team, and the moment I do that, they give me a glimmer of hope.

We are the worst at giving up points within 2 minutes to end the half. Worst since 1998 for doing it 11 straight games.

And probably the most generous as in maybe HALF the games MM gives them a TO to let them catch their breath. :banghead:

http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/goska/2016/11/30/packers-foes-driven-score-before-halftime/94667832/

The article doesn't mention how often MM gives the opposing offense a TO. It happening once is crazy enough, but he has done it over and over again. As soon as he does it I always think, ****, we are going to give up points after he gave them a breather.

Agreed. Sour grapes.
