Is there a more painful game in Packers history than the 2014 NFCCG?
Losing to NYG in 2011?
Favres INT vs NYG in that NFCG?
I wasnt in the country then, but I guess 4th and 26 was pretty bad right?
Am I forgetting one? Losing to SF @ Lambeau maybe?

2014 was easily the worst IMO.

Losing to Arizona on a fumble/non called facemask
Losing to Arizona on a blown coverage on the first play in OT after another great hail mary
Getting slaughtered by Kaepernick where it seemed like Capers fell asleep in his chair.

All of our playoff losses seem to be worse than most.

Losing to AZ the first time didn't hurt me much. We were up-and-coming with Rodgers and fought back from a big deficit. I remember hating the call previous to the fumble though (a bomb to Jennings who had man coverage down the sideline). I thought it was impatience by MM- we were backed up deep but had been moving the ball all afternoon with shorter stuff.

What galled me about the 2nd loss to AZ was how they scored the go-ahead TD. 3 minutes left in the game and Shields had had a gimme INT go right through his hands, and right after that, AZ scores the go-ahead TD on a tipped pass that fluked right into another Cards receivers hands. Plus, there were several terrible calls benefiting AZ on that go-ahead drive too. F*ck me.

The games we got slaughtered don't hurt me as bad.
It's the close ones that get away. 2014 in SEA is the ultimate example of that. Jesus, why did I even bring this sh*t up.

The Terrell Owens game was the worst.

I'm fairly confident I will never experience watching a more painful loss than the 2014 NFC Championship game verse Seattle. We were minutes away from going to the Super Bowl. Packers have had some bad losses, but I literally started blacking out after that game.

I coped with the SEA loss better than others because I saw it coming. At halftime the group I was watching it with were optimistic and looking up flights to AZ, but I just kept saying we left too many points on the board. Only being up 16-0 after such domination was a bad omen. Same thing happened with PSU v Bucky last week. Huge psychological difference between 2 score vs. 3 score lead.

I'm still hurting over the 49ers 21-20 win over GB in 1966. Steve Spurrier led to the win and my mom took a picture of me pouting.Still have it.

This one killed me because I had no hope going in. The fact that we put ourselves in a place where, mathematically, we had over a 99% chance to win, only to lose, makes this worse than any other loss.

But honestly Mags, you must be a die-hard pessimist to have "seen it coming". I can understand being nervous because of points left on the board, but to have been sure enough we'd lose that this loss didn't bother you as much as others- that's actually kinda unreasonable.
I mean, when Burnett picked off that pass and went down, you're telling me that at that point you were thinking, "I'm absolutely sure GB is going to lose this game." ?? That's crazy man :D

Nah, the Vikings were going to murder us the following week. Would rather have avoided that.

Until 2014, 4th and 26 was the worst. That season, we caught fire after Irv Favre's death, and were riding an emotional high. Then while pummeling the Broncos, Nathan Poole and the Cards got us in on 4th and 21 on a crazy force-out rule. Then we got the Matt Hasselbeck/Al Harris OT game. And then the Packers were up 14-0 on the Eagles, about to go up 21-0 before half, when we got stuffed on 4th down. And then you know the rest. We had a good chance against the Panthers the following week.

2014 was also a pretty good confluence of health, playing well, and momentum. We had to blow a lot of things to lose and somehow did just that.
