Either of which would have been drafted if they were the top guy on Teds board. Every year a guy falls or we don't draft and the board goes nuts. I just hope we don't trade down more than a few spots from here, land King and still have a bunch more picks in the sweet spot of this draft.

I know it's a different situation, but it seemed to work out pretty nicely for the Cowboys last season.

Both had major medical red flags. What would be more frustrating is wasting a high draft pick on a player who cant stay healthy. We dont need another Jerel Worthy or Justin Harrell

And they have about 100X the information on these guys that you or I do. So it's fair to assume they have their reasons

We are defiantly trading this pick. TT is actually trying to make people think we are taking a Qb with this pick lol.

If their really is a bidding war going on between 3-4 teams for pick 33, maybe we can add a 3rd and 4th/5th round pick along with a early to mid 2nd. Or possibly a future 1st along with a 3rd or 4th rd pick. Either would be a huge haul for a late 1st when you include the 4th we picked up from Cleveland. Football is the one sport where multiple starting caliber players is better than one stud player. Look no further than the Texans when they went 8-8 with JJ Watt and 8-8 the folloing year when he was out for the entire season. And he's argueably the best player in the league.

The biggest bang for the buck are in rounds 2-4.

If you actually hit on those picks.

Our 2nd-4th round picks the last 10 years.

So there were no doubt some home runs but there's also a ton of meh to complete crap in there as well. I just think when you have a potential top 10 pick fall into your lap at 29 (and there may be some red flags), you just say **** it, shut down the phones and take the gamble.

Injuries happen, and not every player works out, but the same is true for first rounders. Getting more guys in 2-4 is always a good deal, not because I think so, but because I've seen stats that have shown that's where the value is (but of course, I'm too lazy to look it up).

I would say you have very high expectations for players - - expectations that could not be achieved without incredible luck.

So, because a guy who gets paid to evaluate players has a different opinion than you, that means that he's wrong?
Geez, at least wait to see who they get with the picks.

What? Where are my high expectations? I said to take the top 10 prospect that fell instead of trading down for a **** 4th that will likely turn into nothing. Sure Foster might bust as well but if he hits, he's a top 10 talent that you got at 29, which is incredible value. I'm not trading a potential true difference maker in the middle of our defense, something we've never had with Rodgers and have been looking for seemingly forever to drop down 4 spots to pick up an extra 4th round pick. **** that.

I think your valuation is off just a bit. You are comparing a potential lottery ticket to another lottery ticket with slightly less favorable odds and a $5 bill. Why not take the slightly less favorable ticket and the extra $$ which you can use to buy another ticket? Especially when the draft is basically a semi-educated crap shoot.

Edit: I'm pretty sure it's been statistically proven that have a similar probability of drafting a quality starter in rounds 3 & 4 almost as often as in the first two.

He's not a top 10 talent until he does it in the NFL. But beyond that, your assessments of some of the players on that list are based on expectations much higher than the "average player chosen at that point in the draft."

Or you can go with the year before that where we took Randall over Landon Collins who also fell out of the top 15. Or the time we drafted a guy named Aaron Rodgers who fell out of the top 10.

Just because one doesn't work, doesn't mean they all will. I say it every year, if you just wait at the bottom of the first and select the guy projected top 10 who falls because everyone is picking him apart that would give your team more pro bowl players.
