Game 7: Saints @ Packers

Post#1 » by humanrefutation » Sun Oct 22, 2017 8:19 am

Time for Hundley to show us what he's got. Hopefully, a healthier O-line gives him time. The running game needs to show up, too.

A secondary that is missing Burnett needs to hold up.

Let's do this. Go Pack!

Sounds like it's going to be a rainy game.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It will be interesting to see how and if MM and Capers adjust strategy on the D without Rodgers.

Gamble more? Even more bend, don't break?

Rain an interesting variable. Obviously less passing would favor us but we have such a questionable run-blocking line I'm not so sure. Plus Brees has a boatload more experience in bad conditions even coming from NO.

Interested at least. That's something.

Mother Nature with an assist to the Packers IMO. They need all the help they can get slowing the pass.

Unless its windy I think the wet field actually helps the passing game. On a slick surface wrs know thier cuts but dbs need to react.

Where it maybe helps them is its makes this a more random luck game with possible fumbles or guys falling down and wrs running free and as the team that should be more used to playing in these conditions I hope that randomness goes their way.

Michael Thomas for 200 yards. Only way we win this game is Hundley being allowed to run but McCarthy seems determined to force him to pass the ball.

Throwing a football in the rain sucks.

If the Packers defense has a strength, it is the interior defensive line. If NO is forced to go there at all it helps GB.

They will come out trying to throw I'm sure, but they aren't the same offense outside on a sunny day. I don't think the rain helps at all. It may help a WR running but it definitely doesn't help catching or throwing.

I'm living in fantasy land but I would to see our RBs get 30 carries today.

Don't overlook that last week Brees threw for only 188 yards (and 2 picks) and the Saints ran for 193.

We're also probably living in fantasy land if we think Aaron Jones will/would get the bulk of the carries if we even try to run the ball.My biggest fear going into last week's game was that Ty Montgomery was back and that Mike McCarthy would go all ''Mike McCarthy'' and go away from Aaron Jones in favor of Ty. Aaron Jones getting 13 carries last week after his game vs Dallas was bad coaching, especially with Aaron Rodgers out of the game.

I would lean on Aaron Jones quite a bit even if Rodgers was still out there, even more so if Rodgers is out. That said, I expect to see Ty get a bunch of those 2 yard carries where he looks like a WR trying to play RB.

Mike McCarthy gonna Mike McCarthy.

I welcome them to try that against our front. I much prefer our odds of success there. It would at least be a different type of failure for our defense, but I trust them to stop the run more than the pass which I have absolutely no faith in.

Sucks Rodgers is out obviously, but I'm kind of excited to see Hundley start a real game with a full week of practice as the starter.I think he'll be ok if McCarthy puts him in a position to make some plays.

Great start for obvious reasons but that was a perfect throw from Hundley on the free play.

The Saints didn't try very hard on that play
