But I don't know how the hell you justify your current situation in New England if your injury is so significant that three doctors told you to have surgery. If he ends up playing throughout the rest of the season, you'll know that - at the very least - he chose to play through the pain for Brady instead of playing through the pain for Hundley.

So...what's the big deal?

I don't understand the vitriol. I really don't. This is a corporate big money league. The players don't have guaranteed contracts and they play, arguably, the most violent sport in the country. He signed up to play for the Packers. A-Rod went down, and in absolutely predictable fasion, the Packers are a sub-par (putting it kindly) team. The entire organization has ridden the coat-tails of Aaron Rodgers for years. Why would a vet like Bennett owe any allegiance to the team - he was ring chasing. Period.

Marty didn't sign up with the Packers for some dumbfounded allegiance to the organization - like we do. He signed up to have a shot with another HOF qb. So, Hundley (who is clearly in wayyyyy over his head) is no good. Shocker. Bennett's approaching retirement. He very well could have gotten surgery and sat out if he stayed in GB. Can you blame him?!? I sure as hell wouldn't.

The Packers did what they needed to do to protect their financial investment - something they are very very savvy in doing year in and year out. They used a questionable approach. And, you can't tell me they didn't ponder NE footing the bill. Bennett played his hand: I'll sit out if I'm here. Now that NE picked him up: Why wouldn't he play through it?!? If he can, he's going to go for another ring.

Who cares? All this '...you owe the team this allegiance...' stuff is flat nonsense. It's all about the money. Both sides.

You're repeating what's already been said in this thread. By me, specifically. No need to preach to the choir.

I don't especially care about him going to NE. I'm just critiquing the credibility of his story. I'd understand it more if he just said he was about the rings, and didn't want to risk his injury for a team going into the tank, rather than needlessly throwing Pat McKenzie under the bus.

McKenzie is very highly regarded. He won't be on social media or giving interviews so we'll just hear one side of the story. Bottom line is **** Bennett.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I hear you. I wasn't really addressing you - though I quoted your response.

I mean, the Packers 'Failure to Disclose' was a ploy on their part given their opinion on Bennett's injury. And, Bennett's response is his ploy. A classic he said, she said, he said thing. I mean, to expect we're going to get the straight and clean truth from either party is a bit remiss, imho.

Anywho, time to go and complain about Coach Kidd ;)

Defending quitting on your team. Amazing. That surgery he had done recommended by three doctors must be revolutionary for him to be back on the field already.

I think the point is Bennett is trying to play the victim, but he currently has one hand on his phone on social media saying he wanted surgery and another hand on a football (if he can catch it) at Pats practice.

Bob and Brian used to do a bit called All My Packers that was a parody of all the stuff that went on with the Packers on the 80's. Deja Vu

McKenzie is notoriously cautious and Bennett passed his physical and is practising for NE. It's pretty clear he's lying.

Just say u wanted out. You don't have to make up a story. But then again i guess it runs in the family
