I don't think you know what irony means.

Tim Brando and Greg Jennings on the call.

Terry McAulay and crew officiating.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Has Jennings ever called a game before. I find him annoying
Why should you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed? You don't need double talk... You need Bob Loblaw.

This is kinda what I was saying on the miraculous Antonio Brown catch play.

The actual correct time to bring this setup in was that play (with HHCD actually in the picture). Instead, he had 9 guys within 8 or 9 yards of the LOS. The coverage wasn't terrible...but why would you not have a wall of guys at ~10 and ~15 yards? If they want to dink and dunk underneath and take 7-8 free yards, let them do that. They had 17 seconds to get 35-40 yards.

Those images don't tell me enough about the defense, IMO. I want to see the actual video of their movements to understand whether they were schemed inappropriately or whether they executed it inappropriately. I also want to know when that image was taken.

For example, HHCD is positioned in that image around their field goal range - the 35 yard line would give you a 52-yard field goal. That might be a little too deep at that point, but you do need a deep-lying safety there just in case Ben throws over the top. Plus, it's unclear whether HHCD took steps back at the snap or whether he only moved laterally.

It is very possible that the guys Bukowski whines about are in reasonable positions. Ryan and Martinez (?) are providing underneath zone coverage, while Randall is a little deep on his end, maybe by 2-3 yards at most. I can't tell who is missing from the Steelers because I only count ten guys (maybe Bell?) but It doesn't seem to me that people are wildly out of position for a zone coverage.

If you want to further the narrative that Capers should go, I'm on board. But that image doesn't tell me enough to make an informed decision.

Do we know which play that is? I see that it's 1st and 10 from the 41 but I don't know the clock situation on that play.

Is this the first play of the game? Steelers had 1st and 10 from the 41 on the first play...

I've been told repeatedly on this board and others that it's ALWAYS better to be aggressive then to play a soft zone so I'm not sure what your getting at

Head Coach Mike McCarty said Packers QB Aaron Rodgers could begin a "trial return" to practice on Saturday.

"He’s got a workout today, and we'll obviously evaluate him," McCarthy said on Friday. "We’re looking tomorrow to potentially practice him in a trial return. That’s the outlook. We’ll determine that tomorrow after his work today."

Saturday would be the first day Rodgers is eligible to practice, based on the rules regarding a return from injured reserve. Rodgers was placed on IR Oct. 20 following his collarbone surgery. He is not eligible to play in a game until Week 15 at Carolina, but getting him back at practice would be no small thing for the morale and spirits of the team.

"Absolutely. I think it’s a big deal when you see your leader out there, definitely," McCarthy said. "The guys have been watching him work here the last couple weeks. You also have to be in tune with the trial return mode...but it would be great to have him out there."

Elsewhere on the injury front, McCarthy ruled out RB Ty Montgomery (ribs/wrist) and rookie CB Kevin King (shoulder) for Sunday's game vs. Tampa Bay.

Signs look positive for rookie RB Aaron Jones (knee), who has practiced on a limited basis this week after missing two games, but McCarthy said he wants to see more.

"I thought Aaron Jones looked good yesterday, but today’s evaluation will be important for him," McCarthy said. "Hopefully he can progress to some more work in tomorrow’s practice. He definitely took a step forward."

As the calendar turns to December, McCarthy stressed the Packers need to start playing their best football. The team has been up and down since Rodgers' injury and has lost three straight home games. The forecast is for mild weather Sunday as the 5-6 Packers look to get back to .500 and build from there.

"We need to play above our game and play above the standard we've played to, to this point," McCarthy said.

I know what you're trying to say ,but I think it would be ironic from the standpoint I wouldn't expect the Packers to beat anybody with Brett Hundley at QB. Sure, the Packers could win with Hundley at QB, they've done it once, just like the Packers could lose with Rodgers at QB.

If somebody gave me a choice right now and said you can either have the Packers play the Browns with Brett Hundley at QB, or have the Packers play the Eagles with Aaron Rodgers at QB, if the Packers win the league will give the Packers the #1 seed in the NFC. I would feel a lot better about our chances if the Packers played the Eagles with Rodgers that I would if we played the Browns with Hundley.

Seriously what is ironic about that? Irony would be more like we beat Pitt and lost to Tampa and cle then Rodgers comes back and win out.

Return to Green Bay Packers
