Bonds hits 755 in San Diego

Against Clay Hensley. Of course he stood and watched it go for awhile, but had a pretty cool moment with his son when he got home. Very mixed reaction from the Padres fans, but a lot of cheers.

Yeah, I saw it on live T.V so that was pretty cool. That guy who caught it should ask for at least an autographed baseball bat from Bonds when he gives the ball back.

I used to be adamantly against Bonds...and that peaked with the whole Bonds on Bonds saga. But, honestly, I don't harbor much ill will towards him anymore. He wasn't the only one who used it (in fact, he was one of the MANY who did so), pitchers used them as well. I think an asterisk might be applicable, but when he hits 756, I'll politely applaud the milestone and move on.

I'm driving to the Brewer Giants game on the 25th this month since I live in Seattle with my wife.. we are sitting where he usually hits homers.. so I'm looking forward to hopefully catching one but one part of me would really want to throw it back.. oh well.. I cant wait to watch them play.. havent seen the Brewers live all year since I moved.

Ironic that the guy he hit it against has been punished for using banned substances.

Barry Bonds is the best hitter ever...

Steroids or not it doesnt change your ability to see the ball and hes the best at it.

GOOD JOB BONDS!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't have thought that either....but I was listening to a sports radio show last week and they had on one of those Bonds authors, who said that even Barry reportedly told friends that his roid mix was helping him see the ball better.

Bonds was a very very good hitter. But when he started getting older and his ability slipped he chose to cheat. All of his "records" will always have an *

ROFL @ giving it back. He'd better ask for at least six figures.

Find me another player who didn't take roids, then as they are 37 years old suddenly out of the blue sees his batting average and power takes a dramatic jump instead of decline which is what almost always happens at that age?

I don't hate Bonds and do think he's unfairly been singled out for his steroid use over all the other players who used it.With that said, the guy starts his steroid program and next thing you know a guy who has been a .290-.300/.600 SLG% hitter does this

.328/.863
.370/.799
.341/.749
.362/.812

Anyone who doesn't think the steroids Bonds was taking didn't help turn an absolutely fabulous player into a freak of nature player is simply in denial. The shame as many have noted about Bonds is that if he had just not cheated and played with only his God given talent vs getting help from a chemist,Barry would be viewed as an all time great anyways. Now he's viewed more for his cheating and many people forget how good he was before he chose the path that forever ruined his baseball reputation.Bonds pulled a Pete Rose, just in a different way.Make a horrible mistake in judgement that ruins their reputation, then keep denying it even though everyone knows you're lying, further tarnishing yourself in the eyes of baseball fans.
