OT: So where u from? and who are you? Cub Forum Ellis Island

Now that we have our little gentlemens club of Cub fans I was wondering where you all are from?

I really don't hear many people talking about going to the games except for SW and treyZz, that makes me think you guys are really far away.

I know GYBE is from the land of Tony Kornhieser, what about the rest of ya guys...?

I'll also be the first to post a picture of myself, in Cubs gear of course... so without further ado here I am.

Figured some of us might want to know who we talk to everynight, ya know when we ditch our g/fs and try to stare at the computer screen and the TV at the same time.

Yeah, as most know, I'm a foreigner. From the Toronto suburbs, I've also lived in Ottawa for awhile.

Toronto

The suburb I live in, Pickering, has the above nuclear reactor. Apparently it's one of the biggest in the world, so I may have long-term radiation exposure.

Ottawa

Ottawa has a canal that runs through all of downtown that everyone skates on in the winter. You can skate to class, or shopping or whatever.

Ottawa also has a lot of protestors, most of the city is very political. Everyday I had to walk by a new group of angry citzens.

I've been to Chicago once to catch a weekend of games at Wrigley, really enjoyed it. It's pretty similiar to Toronto actually, with more white people and less politeness. And much a much better sports atmosphere.

Well I can claim to literally be from Chicago. I grew up in an apartment on the north side of the city, Rogers Park to be exact. Roughly 5-7 miles north of Wrigley, home of Loyola University's main campus.

I went to St. Ignatius grammar school up until my 8th grade year, when the freaking archdiocese decided to start closing some of the schools, mine included.

These people weren't happy with it.

(SUCCESS was the acronym that archdiocese was using)

(the church is huge, the church/school were built in the early 1900's)

I'm now older and wiser, I live and work in/around Ann Arbor, MI.

Hey 2poor I lived in Rogers Park for two years. Really a great place, it has its patchy areas but it really astonishes me how that lake front property isn't bigger and more commercial than it is.
