CLAIM Swearinger right now. Safety is a HUGE need and he's a solid player.

DJ would be a welcomed addition. I'm not a huge fan of him per say, but you gotta look at the positives of grabbing him.

1. He's better than anything we have
2. He would come cheap
3. Not many talented safeties in the draft
4. Too many holes to cover on this team, you would eliminate one heading into the off-season.

If you re-sign Breeland, you could potentially move him to safety and put him back there with Swearinger.

They brought him in for a visit when he was last on the market a couple years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they claimed him.

Kickers should just kick the ball as hard as they can at somebody. Getting out of the way would be tough and you have a better chance of it hitting somebody and bounces towards you or at least to an area where your guy has a chance to recover than you do of getting the perfect bounce.

If the league is worried about over-loading one half of the field on onsides for concussion reasons, maybe just allow the placement of the kicking tee to be moved? Like, say you can kick from either hash, and have 6-7 guys on the opposite side of the field. They would be occupying more space than before the rule change.

I'm not opposed to bringing in DJ but there's a reason he fell in the draft and keeps wearing out his welcome on teams. Dude isn't the easiest to deal with.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Agreed. His past is a little worriesome, but man, this defense could use talent and a dawg like mentality on the field. We are so soft. But I do agree with your point, it could backfire on us. I think a 2 year deal would be good. Allows him to play for one more deal and if it doesn't work out, we don't have to deal with him for too long.
