The Josh Jackson thing is interesting. By all indications it seems like it's just simply an issue of having too many good DB's ahead of him (King is healthy and Tramon has been elite in the slot). Coaching staff seems to really like Tony Brown and have a lot of faith in Redmond. Not sure if that means they're down on his potential or if it's just a matter of slowly transitioning him over to safety.

Please don't tell me skill level, he clearly had it. He's not small, nor have I ever heard he's got a bad attitude. As for speed, I thought he plays kinda slow, but here's a 4.49...

actually that unofficial time was corrected to 4.56. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa/football/2018/03/05/josh-jackson-nfl-combine-official-40-time-costly-first-round-nfl-draft-prospect/395863002/

I do wonder if safety would be his best position, even though he can play CB. Kinda like Micah Hyde actually, fellow Hawkeye and GB draft pick. He has good ball skills for sure.

Players who were great in college fail all the time in the NFL. He struggled badly as a rookie to the point people thought he should switch to safety. Maybe he just isn't a good NFL player. It's also possible he just needs more time to adapt.

I guess Josh is redundant to King, but slightly slower. Aggressive, ball hawking, physical but slow corner. He was way too grabby last year. Figured he would be better this year, but when Tony Brown and Will Redmond pass you on the depth chart, that's not good.
Redmond looks clueless to me, just has speed to make up for it. Josh doesn't.
