If we win out, beating OSU twice, I still think we'd have a decent shot at a playoff berth.

Agree but not even worth discussing probably.

Though it’d be close. Oklahoma probably has 0 or 1 losses, Clemson is already in, SEC champ is in. Would have to pray that all other SEC teams or Oregon have 2+ losses.

Regardless, though, I’d say the chances of winning out are under 2% so who cares. Not only would we have to beat Ohio State twice, once on the road, but Iowa, @MN, @Nebraska I wouldn’t be shocked if we lose one of them.

Decent, but as twirl pointed out, not as good of a shot likely as Georgia, for example, if they were to win out, too.

Although I do think the B10 is getting more credit this year - deservedly so - but that probably took a hit today, too.

ETA: Georgia is tied 0-0 with Kentucky at halftime, lol.

How hard were you laughing when you typed this?

We will lose to OSU, maybe PSU, and Minny.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely not counting on it. But the team that went into this game is still the same team that had a dominating start and is still the same team that many people would have believed was going into OSU with a fighting chance.

Yes, this loss is absolutely terrible and perhaps has exposed us to such a degree that we'll collapse and finish with a 4-5 loss season.

But it could also be a total fluke, too. We won't know until the season is over.

If they can actually remove their heads from their assess, not necessarily. Playoffs, no. But the NY6 games - 4 of which are not tied to the playoffs - are still very good and prestigious games. We should know.

Been there, done that. Pointless, and I couldn't care less.

Would rather take the redshirt off Mertz and let him take his lumps in preparation for next year.

Spoiler alert: even if Mertz is really good they probably won’t make the playoffs in the next few years.

Cause no Taylor,

If they started Mertz game 1 this year, and he was really good, we win this game by 14 and still have a chance this year....
This year was our best chance unless can talk JT to come back his senior year to break records.

Obviously i'd rather Wisconsin won today, but as you say, when OSU beats us easily next week, there will be less sting to it. Man is OSU loaded with talent all over the field. I'll be shocked if they lose any Big Ten game this year.

Agreed, ....Penn State might have a chance

Maybe we will see Coan vs OSU next week and Mertz in the Ship and can make a comparison....one can hope....

Oh no. I’m all about taking down Ohio State’s season.

Thoroughly enjoy those years when we can be their “Illinois”.

Yeah, we’ve typically struggled to replace good RBs...

We somehow only dropped to 13th in the AP Poll.

Literally anyone other than Alabama would.

Basically one could say, "what if 2019 Wisconsin got to bring back 2011 Russell Wilson and also got NFL WRs and CBs." It's not a fair fight.
