Suppan was at 82 pitches and was pitching great. Yost is a horses ass. He never seems to make the right call at the right time. The way the pen has pitched lately I would rather see Suppan since he was pitching great. 82 pitches and only one run. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: :nonono:

"This hasn't happened this year. Yost is managing to win and isn't caring about anyone's feelings right now."

For those who think I am a Yost basher...I like the Gross pinch hit...fail or succeed.

anyone have a guess as to how much of our late inning collapses are due to yost not pinch hitting for better matchups (right for left and vice versa)?

Well I must say these pseudo rallies suck especially since they are always pseudo and never real rallies where anything happens.

I wish Team USA was on earlier so I had altenate sports viewing choices....

Good at bat by Gabe...it's a shame he just missed a few of those pitches.

well i guess i will in this case defer to yost after all. this is from jsonline's brewers blog:

This season, opposing hitters have a .449 average and a .679 slugging percentage against the Brewer righthander at pitches 76-90.

soup was at 78 going into the seventh

I have bashed Ned almost every game this season.

But you guys are all hypocrites on this board. If Ned left Jeff on and he gave up a 2-run HR to the next batter you'd all have jumped on Ned.

I usually yell at Ned for not having someone ready in the 7th or 8th when our starter is going deep just in case. He did this game, and went to Linebrink. Therefore, I am not going to contradict myself and yell at Yost for going to the pen.

Yep I was hoping he'd actually pinch hit Suppan in the 7th but whatever. After the game he supposedly pitched (didn't see it, sounded good though) you hate to see him tire and then meltdown. Let one guy on and pull him out which is exactly what I would've done in that situation.

I want to see us load the bases with 2 outs and not score. That would just make my season.

Nevermind Estrada just struck out, what a turd.

Remember when he would come in and mow us down??

That's the pitcher I thought we were getting.

Linebrink-
The problem is he doesn't get to pitch against us anymore. What did you really expect from this guy? He had a 3.80 when pitching in SD (big park) and now a 4.50 in Milwaukee. Not really that surprising. He's a guy that slipped severly from his 2004/5 form, the Padres knew it best and dealt him while they could get something for him. In turn he was the kind of free agent the Brewers could afford.

The problem with this team is they are still really young (a 23 year old leader) and a Coach who hasn't been there. There was some good comments by a guy from MLB.com I heard on the radio today-WHen asked about ned he said he thought he made too many excuses for his guys and down played the importance of losses. He used some recent comments made by Jim leland as a contrast-I thought that was a great analysis from a outside observer who does this for a living.

I think they need to add at least one legit vet who can take some of the presure off of Prince as far as leadership. I think that guy could be Griffey Jr. (Minch/Jenkins gone after the year). Griffey Jr. is friends with prince and in some ways can be a mentor. I also think they need to can ned and the entire staff and bring in someone that has been there and knows how to deal with stretch drives. Ned's teams concistently drop in the 2nd half, that's not coincedence.
