I am going to say on at least three occasions I noticed Amos had a decision to either explode forward and make a play or sit back on his heels and get run over for a first down. I am not sure if this is coached or something , but seems like a big problem with this defense for at least two years. Wait and play it safe and drag the guy down for three extra yards versus attack.

I think there is a lot of legitimate talent on this defense and it is being held back other than a few guys. Also, no more Preston Williams in coverage for the love of God.

They have no other options. You want to have looks where the OLB lines up like a rusher but drops back to give the offense different looks. You don't want Z or Gary in coverage. The only other option they have is Burks who has started taking reps at OLB, but he's useless as a rusher.

So we miss Fackerl more than we thought? If that's so, it's a double hit - Fackerl's gone and Preston is functionally sidelined. Smith has too often been pretty weak in coverage - that's just not in his skill set.
