I feel like he has earned a shot, would be nice to lock him in to a three year deal if possible. We already know he is a decent LT back up.

Sure they have time to get a deal done with Adams but it would be beneficial to get one done now to reduce his cap number before the deadline Wednesday. But he and his agent are using that deadline I'm sure.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I love Adams, but it is annoying to see the 'I want to be the highest paid WR ever' and 'I'm frustrated we can't get a deal done, so I will sit out'...I have no idea what the cap hit between Adams, Rodgers and David are, but that has to be an insane amount of our cap.

Well, if he is the best WR out there, it's fair to expect to get paid more than the rest.

Given the other moves needed and done, I thought Turner and Z getting released were a lock. The cap money and its manipulations can only go so far.

Sure, but then you can't be surprised that it isn't an easy negotiation

2 down. Would be nice to get Douglas back but if it's at the expense of Davante, yikes. Follow the money guys...

Turner is mildly surprising because it cost over 5 mil in dead money to free up like 3mil in space. I wonder if they offered a fake extension with void years and Billy said no hoping to cash in on a real deal in FA.

Happy trails for Turner. He wasn't a world beater but he was solid.

Turner cleared 4.2mil according to Spotrac and 15.2mil for Z.

You know the kid they got to do the morning PA announcements over the loudspeaker when you were in high school? Yeah, that's what NFL "insiders" are...

I'm pretty nervous about Preston. He was good last year, but seems he was a little out of shape a few years ago, and that's a bad sign for a football player in his prime IMO. I suppose they had to kick the can down the road to lower his dead cap number this year, but if this new deal starts out a few million higher than his dead cap number would have been, I'm not sure I wouldn't have just cut him. I've heard the arguments that he was utilized more intelligently under Barry and I hope that's the real difference, but I'm not so sure. He doesn't seem to be a very determined player all the time.

If they had to choose an edge rusher to go over a few more million over his dead cap number to retain, I'd take Z over Preston despite the age and injury. I'm guessing they would have had to add too many years to a player that age or something? Or is it that Z can do better than Preston on the open market and therefore is less incentivized to work out something that prevents him from being cut? Or is it just the injury? I don't understand football financials very well at all.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

Browns releasing Jarvis Landry, he’d be a great #2 if the Packers can afford it.

Turner was a pretty obvious cut. Don't get the surprise over it.

Hope I'm wrong, but the Landry interest tells me they're already assuming Davante is gone.

Yeah got to thank Landry would be #1 and hope Rodgers is ok with him and some high-profile draft picks at WR.
