I normally don't care who liked what tweet and generally think it's stupid to care about about something like that but I gotta say the fact Adams liked this tweet makes me sad

My earlier prediction of 5/150 might actually be a little low.

As long as they can fit him under the cap for a couple years I don't care if they give him 40 a year. I actually kind of want to see how ridiculous they can get with dead money in a few years; no half measures. Make the saints cap gymnastics look like amateur hour.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

The Raiders pick #22 in the 1st looks real nice for Davante at $30 mil a year

Gute’s gonna need another bottle of lube after this week. Rodgers and Tae working him.
This can happen when a GM fails to find any skill position players to keep with the big money guys he inherited.
Successfully added a backup running back. Not much in 4 years.

30 million a year for WRs? That's 22 million more than Sterling Sharpe earned in his entire 7 year career combined.

Craziness.

Considering he's had to replace 9 out of 11 defensive starters from the TT era, I think being able to put Tonyan, Lazard, MVS, and Dillon next to our big stars in that timeline is pretty good. I don't really know what else you're expecting. Most of our open cap space and high draft picks have gone to defensive players and the OL.

The "Packers have very little offensive talent" complaint needs to die

So, if I'm reading that correctly.... If Campbell plays well the first year or two - a comparative bargain. If he becomes Ty Summers next season, then the Packers are out $15MM guaranteed and whatever cap hits there are, correct?

OP is 1,000,000% accurate

Go back and look at the last 5 drafts. Sans 2019 we hit Gary Savage Jenkins, every other has resulted in basically squat. You’re talking about high quality draft picks in the 1st 3 rounds and we’ve WHIFFED waaay more than we’ve hit. We’re talking Jace Sternberger in the 3rd, Josiah Degura in the 3rd, Josh Jackson in the 2nd, Oren Burks in the 3rd, Kevin King at the top of the 2nd, Josh Jones in the 2nd and last but certainly never least Jordan Love in the 1st.

That’s 7 top 100 picks in the last 5 drafts. We’ve SETTLED for dude’s like MVS Tonyan Lazard because they’ve come out of nowhere to be serviceable players and they were essentially cheap until now. If that’s the best we can do is run of the mill guys to fill in around the stars, it paints a more clear picture why we can’t get over the hump.

Tonyan, Lazard, and MVS are gone after this year, and I don't believe that any of them truly became what we hoped they would become during their time here. Lazard is a great blocker but a below average WR. MVS had his fair share of dropsies, only to get hurt once he appeared to figure that out a bit. Tonyan was fairly overrated.

That isn't to say that the offense didn't have credible pieces. The offensive line was very solid despite injuries. Rodgers, Adams, Jones, and Dillon are obviously quality pieces. So I'm not bashing Gute, but there is room for improvement in the TE/WR rooms.

Yeah....that's how it works. For every team. You showing that the plurality of our picks didn't pan tells us nothing. The overwhelming majority of picks even in the first 3 rounds are busts (~70% if you go by players who have less than <17 starts). There's nothing to discuss with you if you can't be realistic on what to expect from a draft. Find your best GM from the last 4 years and then we can compare. Otherwise, this is just silly. It's like saying Steph Curry can't be a good 3 point shooter because he has more misses than makes

I'm just talking about the last 4 years tho. This off-season isn't over so I can't judge the 2022 supporting cast yet.

I'm not sure what we hoped they'd be. Both Lazard and Tonyan were undrafted and MVS was 5th round. Like I said, most of our capital went to the defense/OL so Gute did a pretty good job adding complementary pieces with whatever he had left over.

Definitely. Seems like a good year to go WR-TE in the first 2 rounds
