Re: 2020 Draft Thread
id really consider trading down and picking up a high 4th..you have 2nd round WR talent most years that will be available in the 4th 5th round

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
In my opinion we can't take a chance on drafting a WR in the 4th or 5th round like the WRs we have been drafting lately (i maybe mistaken on the round we draft some WRs lately).BallinBucks420 wrote:id really consider trading down and picking up a high 4th..you have 2nd round WR talent most years that will be available in the 4th 5th round
We need someone to come in and make an impact. Its about time we spend a high pick on WR.
I also think drafting young weapons will help long term when we have to replace Rodgers.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
If anything I think Badgers generally get **** on by Packers fans when it comes to the draft, at least here and on Reddit. It's probably different in the population at large, but I don't think it's fair to say that Badgers get overrated simply because it's Wisconsin. What I've seen is that there's a reaction to try to swing any bias back in the other direction, and it swings too far. My two cents.
Anyway, I don't have much interest in Taylor. As a player, sure. And if he ends up being BPA and no one else is even close, then of course take him. But finding a new starting RB is super far down my list of priorities.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
I think part of the dissing of Badger players by some Packer fans, is a counter-reaction to those very vocal over-the-top Badger Homers who proclaim the greatness of any kid passing through Madison. That becomes grating very quickly.
Still, who among us would love to have had Joe Thomas, either of the Watt brothers, Joe Shobert, Melvin Gordon, etc in a Packer uni that had ever been possible.
Taylor's stellar measurables performance at the combine, should put any of those questions to bed. I'd also bet he made plenty of bonus points in the interviews - he's sharp. One TV interview I saw, he also raised the point that in spite of a lot of mileage, he's had no real injury history to speak of - his field availability has been high. My bet is that he goes higher than some the mocks - to this point - have placed him. Maybe late teens, early twenties?

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
I just think Taylor's draft ranking is sort of ridiculous. I think it's either Kiper or McShay that have him 4th and I'm baffled. He's got great size, he's powerful, he's fast as hell, and he dominated for three seasons. I don't get how he's not a consensus top 20 pick.

I think this is exactly it, and what I was getting at by 'swinging back too far.' But I think the over-the-top Badger homer reactions are more centered within Buckyville and offline, so online (here, Reddit as I mentioned) you predominantly see the counter-reaction to diss them.
But my god, TJ Watt here would have been incredible.

Speaking of Badgers, I knew Cephus wouldn't run well, but damn.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
Guessing he just needed to get out of Madison and I get it, but he picked the worst possible year to come out.

Re: 2020 Draft Thread
I would take Taylor in the first, just because it would feel really good. Take Reagor in the second, seems to play way faster than 4.47 ala Greg Jennings.

Would love Taylor, but I can't come around on picking him so early when we have other needs.

I’d agree if WR wasn’t so deep. There are WR in round 2-3 I really like.
I also don’t like extending RB to their second contract but Jones combo with Taylor is exciting.
But in general I agree with you.

I wouldn't be unhappy with the pick, but it'd probably be a case of a string of higher priority targets all fall off the board before our pick.

After losing like 70-5 not sure RB should be high on the list
