Thank god we didn't give up a 2nd-rounder for Claypool. If Cooks is available for a Day-3 pick and the Texans can eat some of that salary, then that's about as far as I'd go for mortgaging any future picks for a rental. He fits a need profile (slot guy) even if he's not as explosive as he used to be.

How does it work if Houston picks up some salary, does that get reduced from the cap? I don't think it does. Unless some of 2023 can get moved to this year? Not sure how that works
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Why did the title say Bourne for a 5th?

Maybe, but they are even right now and both are likely to be no better than 7 win teams. Not sure one pick will be much different than the other in the end.

Cooks would have been good if the texans ate a bunch. packers are going to be right at the cap or over going into next year. aaron jones will be cut as he has a 20 mil cap hit, just so they can sign the rookies.

DJ Moore would have been nice but any additional money taken on for next year wouldn't help the pack.

Calvin Ridley would have been something they should have done. Late round picks for a pro bowl level player that had conditions based on playing for the team that received him or if that team restructured would have been ideal for next season.

other than that who cares. packers still are a WR, RT, 2 safeties, TE, and a defensive coordinator away. They should have sold.

Not a huge surprise since Joe Barry has really never been a successful defensive coordinator. What's shocking is that he was ever given the role in the first place given his consistent failures at other stops. Dude just keeps failing up.

John Hammond served two masters better than Gute and this FO.

Even though I knew they wouldn't do anything. It still is disappointing.

If they weren't buying they should have sold. Doing nothing was the worst thing they could do.

I don't doubt that the Packers were in on some of these recievers, and I get the argument for not overpaying. But I expected them to add a reciever.

Perhaps they'll sign OBJ outright?

More importantly, so would the Packers rather do nothing always and ever more.

Doing nothing in the pick-for-a-player trade market is a prerequisite for getting the Packer GM job.

All energy must instead be devoted to fulfilling the draft and develop, draft and develop, draft and develop mantra.

Even better, by ignoring the possibility of a player trade that might bolster the roster, Gutey and his minions get a head start every year on scouting that next 3rd round steal rather than having to waste time attending a Super Bowl in early February.

I'm still stun a front office thinks Lazard, rookies (not even highly touted ones) and a washed Cobb is good enough to compete.

I'm relatively glad we didn't make a move as I dont' think we make playoffs (I would have traded for a long-term piece like DJ/Elijah Moore FWIW), but the Packers are definitely delusional if they believe this group of pass catchers can lead to contention.

Yeah we wouldn't want to miss the chance to draft this star-studded cast:

(List of all 2-4s since 2016-2021; 6-12% chance to draft a difference maker)

Spriggs
Fackrell
Martinez

Josh Jones
M. Adams
Biegel

J. Jackson
Burks
J. Moore

E. Jenkins*
Sternberger
Keke

Dillon
Deguara

Myers

Yeah, you're big mad we didn't spend draft picks to get a shiny new deck chair on the Titanic. We all get it, dude.

Doubs and Toure catching TD passes Sunday sealed it as far as not making a deal for a WR
