Can't tell if the offense is bad or the defense is just really good, but we constantly hear from the various writers covering camp how much the offense is struggling to get stuff going in 11 on 11 drills.

A whole new offense for the first time in Rodgers career plus a bunch of young receivers. I'll watch a bit tonight but not much.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The secondary could be quite good tho to. Just hope they stay healthy. Specifically king.M-C-G wrote:RRyder823 wrote:D is looking extremely strong across the board. The thing it's missing is a playmaker to look like an elite one.jimmybones wrote:I think the front 7 is going to be insane, I love it. I also like the safety duo and the potential of the young corners.
Clark is the best player on the D but his position simply doesnt lend itself to that role. In all likelihood it's going to be on one of Gary/Savage/Alexander to take up that role (problem is all of them are probably a year away from that)

I think it is going to be absolutely impossible to run against the size/speed/power of this front 7. And Blake is going to be so freed up to attack the ball, it is going to be really fun to watch. If our secondary can be simply average, we will be like a top 7 defense this year.

Some interesting developments tonight.
It's Family Night. BUT...the following are true:
Kizer is no longer the #2. J'Mon Moore is FIRMLY outside looking in. Kumerow and Davis continue to be as advertised. Sheperd continues to surprise. The Back-Up O-Line will continue to be a pre-season quagmire. Ficken has NO chance. Tonyan is the #2 TE. Vitale is making this roster.

Who's running #2 at QB? Kizer is pretty terrible they probably should have brought in a vet.bizarro wrote:Some interesting developments tonight.

I'm pretty much convinced all backup OLs are bad. It's the shallowest position in the NFL, there aren't 150 starter quality dudes across the league so teams start **** dudes so can't really expect backups to be good.

packers don't need a vet at qb. if rodgers is hurt season is over. i know that sounds like a broken record. The only way they would need a vet is if the defense is top 5. it's a solid defense but i don't think its top 5 yet. they should just try to find a young guy and hopefully they can hit it with a young qb via development.

Wilkinson will make the team. Kizer and Boyle are garbage.

That's Wilkins, MD (not being a douche just letting you know). And, Boyle is better than Kizer. Kizer is, well, he's just not good. Let it go. Admit the failed trade.

Wilkins is interesting. I live in az and wife is an asu alum so I watched him a decent amount last year. He can definitely show flashes then will look horrible at times too. Seems like a good practice squad project.bizarro wrote:MickeyDavis wrote:Wilkinson will make the team. Kizer and Boyle are garbage.

Trading Randall for Kizer doesn't look like a good move by Gute.

So it's hard to judge a trade when the player wasnt happy. That's more so on the coaches and this would be the McCarthy /Capers era. (Regarding Randal)

Nope. You don't get to pick and choose what moves a GM gets credit for.MAC1987 wrote:So it's hard to judge a trade when the player wasnt happy. That's more so on the coaches and this would be the McCarthy /Capers era. (Regarding Randal)

He had been around the organization long to have a read on the players and even disregarding that he shouldve gotten quite litteraly anything other then Kizer who has been horrible from the word go in this league.
He miss judged what he was sending out. And he miss judged what he brought in.
It was a bad trade. It just was

Josh Jones is unhappy too. Wants to be traded. But they kept him because they think he'll help the team. He very well could still be traded but they didn't automatically dump him because he was unhappy. They would have done the same with Randall had they thought he could help. They didn't and traded for an inept QB. Bad trade.

Tonyan is still learning the tight end position. He spent the offseason working with Pro Bowler George Kittle...

Re: 2019 Packers Off Season Thread - Training Camp Starts 7/25
I understood why they took a chance on kizer but it sure looks like he can't play so it will be a bad trade.
Randall seems like a **** head so I wasn't sad to see him go. My biggest complaint with the whole Randall situation was that they didn't play him at safety. Seems like it was a cronic problem for the pack where they constantly tried to play guys as man press CBs who were either safeties or zone CBs. Not sure if it was an idiot organizational strategy or an over confidence in Joe whitts ability to coach them up.
Alexander is a great man CB so good pick there. Jackson though might be another example of picking a guy who might not fit the scheme, hope he proves me wrong.
