I can't see quarless getting cut. We carried Finley, quarless crabtree, lee last year. No reason we can't carry Finley, Williams, quarless and crabtree this year. They are all cheap and young plus we won't have 4 fullbacks again.

Thought he switched late last year already. He's got his work cut out for him to make the roster, but certainly no more so than if he was still at CB.

Just saw Anthony Smith won't be back, but I'm assuming Peprah makes it, so maybe 1 spot up in the air for Underwood, Bratton, Levine, Jennings. Underwood stays healthy and he's more than halfway there, imo.

My money is on Bratton or Levine out of that group. Underpants lacks the physicality to hang at safety even if it is of the free variety. I have a pet rock that LOLs at his football IQ.

B.J. Raji: Played 85% of the snaps (1,070 of 1,259), most by a Packers' D-tackle from 1998-2010. The previous leader in that 13-year period was Santana Dotson (82.9%) in '98.

Just thought I'd toss this onto the board somewhere. What an absolute monster considering he was the freakin nose in our base compared to Dotson who was a DT facing single coverage playing alongside Gilbert.

I think we may need a thread devoted specifically to Finley, but I'll post this here for now.

I sent an email to McGinn to get some clarification on the numbers when it came to where Finley lined up last year. He actually lined up out wide as a WR (not in the slot) 18.4% of the time. Nearly 1 out of every 5 snaps for him was as a traditional outside WR. Ridiculous. That is absurd for a TE. He lined up in the slot last season 27.6% of the snaps he played. Even that percentage from the slot is ridiculous for most TEs.

So overall, he was either in the slot or out wide 46% if the time. What a nightmare for opposing defenses.

For those of you that think Finley is replaceable to a certain degree, take into consideration what a mind **** it is for defensive coordinators to have to account for a TE that can lineup as a WR nearly half of the time. We can send out all kinds of player personnel packages and they'll have no idea where Finley might line up. How do you game plan to double team a guy if he can line up basically anywhere? How do you deal with Finley if you can't consistently double him? Hire snipers?

IF Lee & Gordy look good, I can see having more CBs & just carrying Collins, Pep & Burnett at S using Woodson & Bush at S if needed. Charles is there sometime anyway.

Watching pre-season games are usually ho-hum for me, especially the early ones. However, this year I'm pretty geeked up to watch the Packers play.

It was a torn meniscus but you are right, there isn't really anything you can do to prevent an injury like that.

There are definitely things you can do to help make a torn meniscus less likely, but for all we know he was doing them.

No there isn't, other than wearing a brace and hoping for the best. Meniscus is just the cushioning around your knee. When I tore the meniscus on both sides of my knee as well as my ACL I asked my doctor and physical therapists if there was any preventive exercises I could do to make sure I didn't do it again and they said there weren't.

That's just not true. You're far more likely to tear a meniscus if you're weak and inflexible or have bad proprioception.
