Damn near 30 years of first-ballot-HOF play from the most important position in professional sports and the organization seemingly can never be bothered to give up a pick for a weapon. Randy Moss, Marshawn, Tony Gonzalez, Will Fuller.

Hopefully MVS or EQ don't drop a key ball come playoff time.

Not just weapons, the Pack just never trades picks for a player, offensive, defensive, or special teams.

Nearly every one of our competitors made a deal and, as always, we sat on our hands.

We always like our guys and do what we do.

Sanu going for a 2nd rounder last year really screwed up the market.

Clowney has been bad too.

It's crazy how many FA signings in the NFL are a disaster. Such a higher % than any other sport. I guess it's probably how much scheme impacts how a player looks and injuries and just short windows of player effectiveness. Like in other sports guys change teams and generally play the same, in the NFL it's basically a coin flip if that guy produces.

How much of Preston Smith's seeming disappearance is on him vs how he's being used? To me, often times he's back off the line in coverage - more than last year.

How big was the gap between the two teams’ valuations of Fuller? The Packers offered a fourth-round pick for him days before their Week 8 loss to the Vikings and never moved off that value, according to a source.

It probably didn’t help Green Bay’s cause in the negotiations that the Texans possess no first- or second-round picks worth tanking for, face a second-half schedule that offers them the opportunity to close out the year strong and are owned by Cal McNair, who said in a radio interview Monday that he’s holding out hope his 1-6 team could make the playoffs.

It's definitely both. He came into camp overweight and has looked meh, but Pettine certainly isn't doing him any favors lol.

Interesting point by Brandt, whether it ends up being true or not.

Texans traded the best receiver in the game for a 2nd round pick and a run down back.

Now they want a 2nd round pick for a run of the mill oft injured wr who only has 8 games left on his deal? They aren't going to franchise him. Just dumb.

Exactly. They gave up on valuable draft compensation, which they sorely need. Can Houston even afford a Fuller extension? Curious what his open market will be.

Their GM thinks they can still make the playoffs. That should tell you how incompetent they are over there.

Fourth would have been cool and the highest I would have gone. Glad we stood our ground.

Yeah, I can’t wait for Gute to use the 3rd he saved on another 4th string TE. Suuuuuper helpful. It doesn’t matter how many picks you don’t trade if you don’t actually draft good players with those picks.

Are the Texans gonna get a comp pick for Fuller if he leaves? That might explain why a 4th wasn't worth the 8 games of salary savings for them.

Honestly a 4th is probably what they'll get for him as a comp pick so it wouldve been excellerating when they get it by a year.

Not hugely exciting so I could understand them wanting a 3rd but asking for a 2nd is just bonkers
