Patriots have won a Super Bowl with literally just Gronkowski and Edelman and have won two Super Bowls with running backs leading the team in receptions.

I have always found it funny that every year you hear the same bs from football know itcalls.Green bay needs more weapons.Omg 2 years ago they had the #1 scoring O yet you heard the packers need more weapons.Last year same thing its insanly funny.Let this be known the absolute gag job the last 2 years in the POs against TB n SF had nothing to do with lack of weapons but more like bad MLF n bad rodgers

Now is maybe the time to make a trade for a WR. Look at all the teams who drafted a WR in the 1st/2nd round this year, and see if there is a now expendable veteran we can snag.

The Packers are likely set now with Watkins, Cobb, Lazard, Rodgers, Watson and Doubs

I think Pack will dip into to resurrection world with an additional TE and WR for a potential savior or two. Let's face it, those guys usually don't make it through a full season. In Gutey I trust. This roster will need to be a bit more fluid than most of us want or expect.

Unfortunately, in a combat sport... injuries are inevitable. We may have a few cut down surprises and extensions that profer a few more salary cap dollars. It will sting. Rub some dirt on it, and move on. It's a long season.

They'll have more than that on the roster.
They had 8 WR with 160 or more snaps last season.

For years the Packer defense gave up 35+. Didn't much matter what players were on the field. In the playoffs, sooner or later you run into a defense better than the crap that Capers was rolling out there and it was end of season. Teams with Top 10 scoring defenses go to Super Bowls. Plain and simple.

Last year, the Packers stumbled upon something. Hell froze over and the defense came together. Even without Smith and Jaire. For the first time since forever, the defense has a chance to be special. If they can pick up where they left off last season, with the return of Jaire, and the additions of Wyatt and Walker, it could be scary for opposing offenses. It should no longer be on Rodgers shoulders to score 40 against Top 10 defenses, while opposing offenses dance up and down the field at will against garbage Packer defenses. That's how you win trophies

Except, of course, that the Pack has never given up 35 a game. Ever. The closest they came was in 1958.

I know they have some pseudo-FB's in Dafney and Deguara, but the 3rd and 4th RB are a 2021 7th-round pick coming off a torn ACL and a 2020 UDFA with half a season off the practice squad. I didn't even notice how thin they are after Jones and Dillon, but that should be easy to remedy.

The Packers need to scare up more TE help too.

* Tonyan coming off an ACL
* Deguara who was so-so (IMO)
* Dafney who was so-so (IMO)
* Davis who was so-so (IMO)
* Lewis who is starting to slow down (IMO). I think that shows more often at the speed he gets into blocks. It's hard to beat Father Time. I know he's a Rogers and locker-room favorite, but he needs to be upgraded sooner rather than later.

A - where do you find the talent, now that the draft is over
B - how do you pay good talent, considering they still need to finesse the cap just to get under the limit, as it is? Some more restructures and crafted extentions are coming, but it's still going to be tough, I think.

If that's true that's astounding! Certainly with sdn40 in that it feels like it.

And they actually won one without Gronk (2016)

So you mean NE won multiple SBs with literally just the best TE of the last decade, a TE who had 4 seasons of 1,000 yards or more, and a WR who only had 3 seasons of 1,000 yards or more?

The fact that no receiver currently on the Pack's roster has even had 700 yards receiving since 2019 (that being Cobb, when he was WR3 in Dallas, and he was 29 not 32) surely is of no import or relevance when comparing the current Packer group of pass catchers to those Patriot SB winning squads, right?

The GREEN & GOLD goggles have to be pretty thick for someone to convince him or her self that the 2002 Packer's receiving crew is Super Bowl worthy as no recent SB champ has come close to featuring such a ragtag group of receiving misfits.

Of course, maybe Gutey will add a key veteran target to the roster the way the Bucs (Gronk & AB) and the Rams (OBJ) did in winning their Super Bowls. Oh right, he already did that by signing 5th team in 6 years Sammie Watkins LOL.

Yeah I'm saying that the Patriots just recently won a Super Bowl where their leading receiver had 850 yards in the regular season, their second leading receiver had 750 yards and was a running back, their third leading receiver was suspended for the playoffs, their fourth leading receiver was the most amazingest tight end evah and their fifth leading receiver was Chris Hogan who I'm pretty sure is just a guy in witness protection trying to hide in plain sight.
