It’s almost that’s what leaders do or something. Glad to hear it

JayMKE wrote:I qualified what I said enough that it shouldn't be taken as Love literally needs to win MVP in X amount of years or he's a bust, the point being that to justify Gute's pick & developing a guy for years Love has to be more than just an average QB. If Love busts then 100% Gute has to be fired, I feel like most people agree with that so how good does Love have to be good for you to be satisfied?
It seems odd people who have bitched about Rodgers's play for years adopt a live & let live approach with his successor & our dumbass FO.

Lol. Takes a whole lot of audacity to call someone out for saying MVP or bust for Love, and then go on to use 4 of the 5 best QBs in the AFC as a measuring stick.. if he would’ve said “MVP candidate or bust” and you couldn’t have used 4 MVP candidate QBs, what would you have said then?
What? I'm not the one using MVPs are a measuring stick. Dude above needs Love to be Mahomes to justify trading up. As if there isn't a level below All-Time Great that would be pretty awesome.
Yeah the 'ousting' of Rodgers so he must be MVP level or it is a failure is pretty puzzling. There are a lot of outcomes in between failure and greatest QB of all time for Jordan that would great results. Sucks if people are setting the bar at MVP, just not a realistic expectation.
Since 2007 here is the list of MVPs;
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Aaron Rodgers
Adrian Peterson
Cam Newton
Matt Ryan (no idea he won MVP)
Lamar Jackson
Patrick Mahomes
If by 2024 Jordan Love isn't on there, bust, big time!

Now we probably know there will be no Rodgers. Pick it up. What's the date to decide? This might also be part of the Jets' leverage on us - they know we need to 100% have Rodgers out the door to pick up the option.

They can save just as much dead cap by cutting him as they can by trading him, so they don't have to wait for a trade to happen if they are set on moving on and giving the keys to Love. Heck, they can actually spread out the cap hit in a more team-friendly way if they wait to cut him, rather than trading him before June 1st.
The only scenario where Rodgers's status is a factor in their decisions re: Love is if Rodgers decides he wants to play for GB and they decide they want him back, both of which seem, needless to say, rather unlikely.
