Trading draft capital for a 27 year old Safety who is expensive while we're trying to get out of cap hell seems like a bad idea

Yeah just sign him in two years when they are ready to actually win.

The Packers are going to have a TON of cap space once the dead cap rolls off. Plus the 20 and 21 draft classes where so bad they won't be spending much on extending their own FAs.

It's not fair, but what I first think of with Budda Baker is his being caught from behind on that Interception by DK Metcalf, who started his pursuit in the next time zone

That was an amazing play, Metcalf looked like he was shot out of a cannon.

Really interesting looking at Andy Herman & PFFs top and lowest graded packers through 5 weeks and seeing the differences

Herman's top 5 offense

1. Zach Tom
2. Romeo Doubs
3. Dontayvion Wicks
4. David Bahktiari
5. Jordan Love.

Pff top 5 offense

1. Bahktiari
2. Tom
3. Doubs
4. Jayden Reed
5. AJ Dillon

Herman bottom 5 offense

1. Runyan
2. Newman
3. Myers
4. Rasheed Walker
5. Malik Heath

Pff Bottom 5

1. Tucker Kraft
2. Newman
3. Heath
4. Runyan
5. Deguara

Herman top 5 defense
1. Clark
2. Rasul
3. Gary
4. Quay
5. Ford

Pff top 5 defense

1. Gary
2. Rasul
3. Campbell
4. Ford
5. Eric Wilson

Herman bottom 5 defense
1. Jaire Alexander
2. Enagbare
3. Preston Smith
4. Nixon
5. Justin Hollins

Pff bottom 5 defense
1. Mcduffie
2. Enagbare
3. Valentine
4. Wooden
5. Brooks

So no huge disagreements but consensus seems to be

Good: Zach Tom, Romeo Doubs, David Bahktiari, Gary, Rasul, Ford

Bad: Runyan, Newman, Heath, Enagbare

I wish he'd cut it off since Gutey took over. The last few years of TT were brutal as shown by the fact 8 of those 16 misses were picked by TT

Wouldn't call Savage, Myers, and Montgomery misses. King's career was destroyed by injury.

But regardless, that looks like what I'd expect from any team drafting. Most picks aren't good.

Only qualifying as a "hit" if you're a borderline All-Pro level guy is hilarious.

That's the problem when the rating is almost binary: hit or miss. There is no mid-level rate. It could be something like hit, expected (based on round pick) and miss.

I think you have to view it in broad terms because every GM has misses but the fact is they've gotten little to nothing from the 20 and 21 draft classes. That's bad.

I think Gute did a good job signing vets and going win now mode early in his tenure. I don't think he's drafted well enough that I want him as the GM for the rebuild they are currently in.

Via Demovsky:
On Monday, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur didn’t give any injury updates on the players who were forced out of action versus the Denver Broncos, but ESPN’s Rob Demovsky has a scoop on the status of starting safety Darnell Savage. Savage, who has previously dealt with his calf injury this season, will apparently miss multiple weeks — according to Demovsky’s reporting — and a stint on injured reserve, which would cost Savage at least four weeks of action, is apparently on the table, too.

Murphy will retire on July 13, 2025. I don't like having a lame duck in charge during this critical time. They should be looking for a replacement now and bring him in immediately after the season. His first job is to evaluate Gutey.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

July 13 is useless timing if other top management changes need to be settled. Much too late in the off-season to do GM or Coach changes. IF Murph's successor isn't in charge before the end of the 24-25 season, it will be another lost opportunity.

I think it's pretty clear Gute & MLF are going to get a chance to see this rebuild through. If the 24-25 season ends and we've seen little to no progress or improvement then I would imagine Murphy's successor will go pick his own guys. Heck he might do that anyway even if they have success.

Probably not that big of a loss if we're being honest...

You can probably add Stokes to the pile of crap picks by Gute. That 21' Packers draft class is laughably bad.
