Dang. I enjoyed Jones on this team
Always a bright spot. Seems like a legit good dude and a good player.

He is old in RB years though I guess and isn't a model of health. Still a shame

They could also June 1 Jones which would open up about 12 mil in cap space
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

The lord giveth and the lord taketh away. Man, that hurts. I love Aaron Jones, all time great Packer and certainly 1 of my personal favorites. I’m hoping that 1. we have a contingency plan for the money savings and 2. this was more of a favor to him to allow him to go get his bag instead of taking another pay cut. He atleast deserves that much from the organization. If this cut is just a “hey we don’t need you now we found someone better” that’ll hurt bad.

Got PAID.

Shades of Don Davey signing with the Cards. When Holmgren was relayed the terms of the deal he exclaimed "Wow! That's a really good deal."

People need to take the emotion of your your clouded judgment.

Was Jones a great guy...Hell Yes
Was Jones a fun player to watch...Hell Yes
Was Jones someone you could always depend on game after game...Hell no

I’m guessing everyone felt the same when Jordy was released.

You're underrating how good Jones has been over the years and before being banged up last year, hadn't missed that much time at all. His workload also is not at all excessive for his age. Josh Jacobs has over 100 more career rushing attempts at age 26 than Jones has at 29. I suppose we'll find out but I think the idea that Jones is a player on his last legs or something is way off base.

Jordy was 32, coming off a 482 yard, six touchdown season. He averaged 9 yards a reception, never broke 80 yards in a game.

Nope, did not feel the same way at all.

I don't know much about the league, so nothing really to say about the new guy, but Aaron Jones sure was fun to watch. Enjoy the Jets dude.

That was with being force fed by 12 as well. Jordy looked old

Not seeing terms yet makes me think that Jacobs is on a one year prove it deal.

Yeah, Jones was legitimately great last season (yes, *when he was healthy* moniker applied) and the offense didn't look the same without him. This isn't just some "we'll miss the good vibes" thing.

It's a Davante/Favre/Rodgers thing. 1-2 good seasons left but it could also be zero. I'm sure Gute and everyone else would've loved to have him back if the money situation was different, but it's a process-based bet. It could look really foolish for a few months or even a year or two.

I'd be shocked if he came back at all at this point. Time to start looking in the draft for Jacobs tag-team partner.
