I have no idea how this WR group shakes out. One of the more intriguing position battles of the past few years.

No, a 2nd.

In the right weather conditions, a 1st this year and a 2nd in 2020.

I don't diagree with this. I'm super excited to see if Lafleur can get the most out of guys with his schemes and I believe Mc was god awful at adapting or just too stubborn to.

But this is where you lost me(and everyone else apparently.) This is one of the most Madden video gamey proposals I've seen in a while. No one is giving up any draft pick for Trevor Davis.

PackerTalk article
"Coach Matt LaFleur said post-game that Davis, who caught five passes, did an “outstanding job.”

It’s hard to imagine Davis not making the 53-man roster. He was a standout player during the offseason workout program and the start of training camp, and while injuries remain a concern, no player on the roster possesses his combination of speed, elusiveness and return ability.

The most encouraging part of Thursday night might have been seeing Davis translate his success in practice to the field in a game environment.

Also, LaFleur seems to have a grasp on how to maximize Davis’ skill set. Opportunities to both run vertical routes and get the ball in the open field could make Davis a dangerous weapon for an offense that needs more playmakers."

Josh Jones released... can’t help but feel this will come back to bite us in the ass.

Josh Jones isn't very good. I don't think it'll bite us in the ass. Everyone wants to look back on Hyde, Hayward and Randall but all those guys were playing out of position or dealing with injuries. Jones doesn't have the same skill-set as those players, so unless he puts on 40 pounds and moves to linebaker, I don't think we need to worry just yet.

And Jones was a locker room distraction.

I doubt it happens, but given the Packers history would it really surprise anyone if he turns out to be solid?

Given the length of time involved from when Jones first started bitching about his role, I'd have to think the Packers have been shopping him. Perhaps no interest in him as trade material? I'm sure he'll sign somewhere quickly, but I'd bet there won't be much in the way of guarantees.

*edit* Jones hasn't done himself any favors in this situation, and every team may view him as a self-entitled malcontent. It's one thing to be irritated with previous management, but to whine about your role before new management has even played a game is foolish.
