Huge nepotism problem in the NFL. Are these guys even smarter than any of us (if we dropped everything to study the game)?

I think play calling is legit very very difficult. That said, play calling terminology is so ridiculous it has to be a barrier to entry.

I am trying to fabricate the most overly complex exchange of disgruntled QBs as humanly possible
Seattle trades Wilson, receives Watson
Dallas trades Dak and receives Wilson
Houston trades Watson, receives Carson Wentz and picks
Philly trades Wentz, receives salary cap relief
Indy trades picks, receives Dak
San Fran trades Jimmy G and picks, receives Rodgers
Green Bay trades Rodgers receives a lot of picks.
New England trades picks, receives Jimmy G

Of course this won't happen. I'm trying to figure out what other teams I can work in to this.

Yeah in game action happens very fast and coaching is hard.

Football definitely has a nepotism/good ole boy network problem. I think a little talked about entry point issue is money. Most entry level jobs in football coaching pay little or even nothing so if you don't have money from a support system to float you for years you can't really get in. Sharp people miss out because they have to go find something that will pay the bills.

Man oh man, I think he still has plenty left in the tank. I have to think Pitt would be the front runner to play with his brothers, but I suspect we are option 1a or 1b.

I think he has it in the tank, but I'm not sure how much longer the engine keeps running. I guess that's not the most perfect analogy, but I mean that if he's healthy I think he can still have a positive impact, but I'm not convinced he can stay healthy.

In his last 5 seasons he’s racked up 26 sacks, 160 tackles and missed 32 games. I think people want to believe it more than they actually do.

Do whatever it takes to bring home JJ, he could be our Reggie White.

At this point in their careers.....if we cut Preston and sign Watt I fear we actually take a step back defensively.

The injuries and missed game are quite a big risk.

If we can bring in Watt and somehow keep Preston then let's get I'd done.

Preston is a lock to go. He's certainly not been worth that contract.

When Watt's been on the field he's been awesome.

Pro Football Focus (grade 85) had him as the 7th best edge performer and one of the best run defenders regardless of position last season. He'd be worth playing around with your cap sheet for.

Obviously would love to bring JJ home. What's the realistic options and price tag though? Are people assuming that he's gonna take a discount to come here or is it just a matter of freeing up enough cap room? I'm guessing plenty of teams are gonna be interested.
