Ryan Ramczyk, Smith Schuster or Alvin Kamara, CJ Beathard, Eddie Jackson, George Kittle.

Just give us ONE of those guys we could've had.

Sure is easy to make picks 2 years after the actual draft.

Comments like these are valid....unless of course you are talking about guys like Kamara and Juju who were already known as studs and most people wanted them at the time of the draft.

Maybe it's just me but I don't remember people complaining about the Jones pick at the time. From what I remember most people were very happy with the selection

Closest thing to Nicky Collins we've had. Could be even better.

I thought Jones was going to be good. He seemed to have all of the physical gifts to be a menace in the run game and on a blitz.

Disappointed that it didn't work out.

Jones is why I will curb my enthusiasm about Savage.

I am guessing your are referring to Rollins, Spriggs, and Jones?

Those picks should all be hitting their prime in 2019.

It is a shame they all did next to nothing in Green Bay.

Vastly different players. But, in general, probably a damn good idea with any draftpick until, and if, they actually get to year 3. It’s just so hard to tell and it is so rare to get a transcendent talent who excels from Snap 1.

Studs
WR Trevor Davis: Easy one. Davis was the best player on the field from start to finish Thursday night, turning his seven touches into 113 yards. The Packers just don’t have another player like him on the roster. He can change the game with speed, elusiveness and return ability. Those attributes have always been evident, but now he’s developing as a receiver in an offense that knows how to use him.

speaking of transcendent players who excelled from the start, here's a piece on Clay. Some interesting points. Didn't know the Ravens made the biggest offer. He also recalled the 2014-2016 seasons when he played ILB regularly. Made me remember how good our D was esp in late 2014 after we shifted Clay there. He was out of the game (injury?) at the end of the NFCC in Seattle, when it all fell apart. Too bad it didn't work out between him and Pettine. If he stays healthy, he'll probably have a very good year in LA.

"We'd had some negotiations throughout the latter part of the [2018] season, talks between my agent (Ryan Williams of Athletes First) and the GM (Brian Gutekunst)," Matthews said. "It had been awhile since a -- some people say 'older'; I say an accomplished, veteran pass rusher -- hit the market, probably not since DeMarcus Ware left Dallas (for Denver in 2014). So we said, 'Alright, we're gonna hit the market and kind of see what the value is.' And then the Packers were on board, going, 'Alright ... then we'll figure something out.'

"So I always felt like I would probably end up back there; we just needed to figure out what the going rate was. But that wasn't the case."

Matthews' world was rocked the morning before the official start of free agency -- during the 48-hour "legal tampering" period, during which teams and players are allowed to negotiate but not to sign formal agreements. Early on Tuesday, March 12, Matthews was driving from his home to the Packers' facility at Lambeau Field to work out when he got a fateful call from Gutekunst.

Recalled Matthews: "I picked it up and he just said, 'Hey, there's no money for you. I just want to thank you. I just want to thank you for being yada yada yada.' And, you know, that was kind of that."

Though the Ravens offered more, Matthews ultimately favored the Rams' two-year, $9.25 million deal,

Before he officially accepted the Rams' offer, Matthews allowed his ego to take one more hit: His agent went back to Gutekunst to see if the Packers would be interested in bringing him back at a reduced rate -- basically, at a number similar to what the Rams were offering. Once again, Green Bay had no interest.

"My agent went back and said, 'Hey, we're getting ready to make a move. Is there anything ... ?' " Matthews recalled. "I don't think they were interested at that time. I think they were ready to move on."

The Pack need to find a strong prospect at 2 positions in the final cutdown = ILB & S. At ILB maybe a older vet who lost his starting job to a younger player but who still has a season's gas in his tank. I’d be willing to trade a low draft pick for a younger guy.
Also a TE might be interesting to Pack as I think Mercedes only makes the 53 by default/good locker-room vet – he didn’t play last season – he won’t play this season.

uhmmmm..... What? Why the hell do you think they need to find a Safety during cutdowns?
