Packers could have just stayed where they were and taken T.J. Watt in that draft. I wanted Foster.

Josh Jones was a summer hall of famer in shorts. Most positive off season puff pieces I think I've ever seen about a player his rookie year.

It seems you haven't yet figured out that the draft is a giant crapshoot in virtually every round. Once you do, your angst level drops tremendously.

Dolphins just cut TJ McDonald. Sure looks like a good fit for the ILB/hybrid role. Had 3 INTs last year, 28 years old, and graded out pretty well against the run.

TJ Watt was such an obvious pick to virtually everyone outside of the people that try so hard to be 'level-headed on Wisconsin players' that they actually become anti-Wisconsin.

Jones: I want a trade.

Packers: Okay, we'll look around.

Packers: We're releasing you.

Other teams: We don't even want you for free.

That's gotta hurt the ego a bit.

No one willing to pick you up at 300k for salary is pretty brutal.

It's a crapshoot whether or not someone drafted after your pick will end up having a better career.

It shouldn't be a mystery as to whether three straight 2nd rounders will make it through their rookie contracts or not.

The whole argument that the draft is nothing more than a crapshoot is just a lazy argument from folks to brush off bad drafting

The draft is only a crapshoot for poorly run organizations.

I believe McGinn charged $29.95 a year at his site the last 2 years. Now I can get him plus everything else at the Athletic. Good deal. He's cranky and I don't always agree with him but I don't always agree with most writers. Or you guys.

I wonder if you can cancel your subscription and then use the new offer to get the discount again. Probably not because they have the info on file and I wouldn't do it anyways because I don't read enough on there to make it worth it. Wonder how it's going to be sustainable when you're luring everyone in with $30 per year subscriptions and then bring it up to $60 a year later. And then the writers are eventually going to want raises and subscriptions are going up or the writers leave and then they bring in a bunch of new writers and oh no I've gone cross eyed.

Even better, if you subscribed to his website last year you get the Athletic for $24, 60% off.

Subsequent years are $59.

I agree, they've offered cheap deals from the start, they have to be losing a lot of cash.

I had canceled my subscription a couple weeks ago so it wouldn’t renew at $60 as I decided I could live without it. However within a week of not having a subscription they had sent me a 50% off offer for another year via email I believe so I re-upped at $30.
