Jacobs cap hit this season is only $5.3 million.

Plus if Jacobs has a good year we could have him for 3 more years on a fairly reasonable deal. If Jones has a good year he is now 30.

Youngest team in the league getting younger
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Read on Twitter

Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Hopefully this isn't a Cook/Bennett kind of deal where it felt like an unnecessary switch at the time and played out even worse in real time.

Jones is pretty ticked on Twitter, liking a bunch of stuff and replying to GB reporters. Think we can fully mark this down as a vendetta signing.

This take is getting old.

Why aren't Elgton Jenkins, Jaire Alexander, Kenny Clark, and Rashan Gary gone too?

We had another stellar report card for 2023 as a franchise, voted by the players.

Apparently their valuation was pretty close and his frustration was very real. Here's to a good year for Jones while the vikings go 5-12.

They have to be banking on the timeline a little bit here, too.

Josh Jacobs is much closer in age to the core of this offense and they probably want to build on something for years.

There's a world where Jones could be done after this year.

He has every right to be pissed. I'd probably be mad too. Just wish he took a bit longer to make a decision and went to a legit contender. I don't think he was going to get more than what he did in Minny, so if a team could create some space, he'd be a great fit. Hell he could have went back home to Texas for either team and been in a better spot. Watching him flounder in Minnesota is gonna be no fun.

Its almost as if, once a player leaves this organization, they realize that most other francises do not hold a candle to this one. Thus, when a player is forced to leave, they are not very happy about it. Love, Jones. Fantastic man first, great player second. I hope he finds a great landing place and I wish him future success.

Really disappointed that Jones took the spite route. I get it from a personal standpoint, but the spite Vikings deal never works out.

The previous 4 seasons he missed 4 total games and even this year he didn't miss half the games. This was a really dumb decision. Jones is miles better than Jacobs.

Yeah...This is not true at all.

Jones is a very good player, but dude was consistently taking himself out of games even when "healthy"

Jones will be missed, but acting like Jacobs is not a better back is just wrong.

Jones is like having the best sprinter in the world run a marathon.

Yeah I'd say it's about a coin flip on who will be better this season between Jacobs and Jones. I think Jones is a little better player but Jacobs is younger at a position where that really matters.

Just saying it kind of felt like a move to make a move kind of like the Cook/Bennett deal. Which at the time made some sense too, but unfortunately completely failed in reality.

It's interesting that he chose that route as they really do not have a QB at the moment - if they get subpar QB play, teams will take away the run and Jones #'s will suffer. I woulda went to a team that has a solid passing game that'd free up some running. I think someone put Houston out there as an idea...and that certainly would have been a great spot to land for him. Good luck in MIN - but just don't see this working out in his favor.

Probably a mix of many things, but certainly seems like he was disrespected by the pay cut offer, hit the open market and nothing was out there, so he took roughly 1 mil more to end up on a bad team and disrespect the fans that gave him a ton of love on the way out by going to a direct rival.

Houston would have seemed like a no brainer. They have a ton of space and their rb production was atrocious even with an amazing Stroud year.
