What a boring week of football!

It wouldn't be so bad if they could hit hard like back in the day but watching punts all day was almost like watching soccer.

Ravens vs Pats was a good game. Miami/Buffalo was decent. All of the rest was trash.

We'll probably shut the Giants out in a few weeks

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/26/nfl-replaces-pro-bowl-with-flag-football-skills-competitions.html

As a kid I really liked the skills competition at the pro bowl. I thought it was pretty fun.

I also liked watching old golden players playing flag football. I remember Leroy played in one.

I haven't watched the pro bowl probably since then. So I don't know what they really do anymore.

I'm curious how current star players would play in flag football.

I've played in two versions of flag: 5 on 5 (4 eligible receivers including the center). And 7 on 7: 3 OLINE, 3 WRS, and 1 QB. the Oline can block. those are the two main standard international versions.

I'm not sure what you would do with 22 starters in that scenario. seems like the Oline/Dline guys lose some playing time. More than 5 skill guys on Offense running around gets messy AF (at least in my experience). I've done pick up 7v7 with all eligible WRs and just really crowded no matter how wide the field. 5 seems like the max for it to function properly.

Curious to see how it plays out.

Maybe the Linemen do Iron Man competitions. Who can push those monster truck tires and stuff

I don't mind them tinkering with the pro bowl, it has sucked for so long, it's not a bad idea to try something new.

I guess it turned into quay and Watson.

So far quay is looking like a future star. Could be our best ILB.... In decades.

We've trotted out some really really awful ILBs over last so many years. Do you guys remember how bad Brad Jones was? Yuck.

If quay turns out to be special which early returns are showing, feel already like it was a good trade. Especially if Doubs keeps shining.

Campbell was 1st Team All-Pro last year, but I get your point.

Woody Hayes could have called the Bear game plan

The more receivers that go down, the more teams we will have to compete with if a decent one hits the market. Gute really needs to be proactive. I was calling for this approach 3 seasons ago when the Broncos started like 0-3 or 1-4 and Emmanuel Sanders was in the final year of his contract. Instead he hung around til the deadline and went for a 3rd and a 4th to the Niners. Gotta get in early to beat the competition.

Every week it blows me away how awesome the Amazon broadcasts look. Between Michaels and Herbstreit in the booth it's probably the best there can be.

It’s popular to hate all announcers but I 100% agree very impressed by the entire presentation and broadcast. Hard to beat the announcing crew.
