Not really surprising with his drop in playing time and lack of impact on offense.

About 8 weeks too late on cutting Watkins but I'll take it.

Doubs rehab complete and Toure progress = Watkins cut?

The part after "Yuck," was perhaps unnecessary but also incredibly accurate with regard to the Watkins' as of the day he was signed last April.

Washed, not healthy, and underwhelming are about the most positive things to say about Sammy's time in Green Bay, oh and pretty cheap I guess.

That the Watkins signing was an unserious attempt to make up for the losses of Davante and MVS is not hindsight, it was obvious the day it happened.

Only Brian Gutekunst and the sunshine and rainbows crowd actually thought Sammy had any "juice" left in him.

Watkins was relatively useless even in the rare instances he was on the field.

I'd be surprised if he lands elsewhere at this point. It feels like this is a wrap on his underwhelming career.

Frustrating considering JuJu was signed by KC on a modest 1-year deal.

In a wierd way, I am ok if Lazard walks after the season.

2023

1.) Watson
2.) Doubs
3.) Cobb
4.) Toure
5.) Jordan Addison (1st)

I'd be surprised if they re-sign Cobb.

If Aaron stays with us, I'd say it's a lock that Cobb plays for us next season, it's not like he is super expensive and he can help our young WR core to succeed too. To be fair, he has produced this season somehow, he is consistent and Aaron trusts him. Don't forget about the secret signs.

I'd be fine with Cobb coming back cheap. Lazard can go.

If Rodgers is back, may as well bring Cobb back too. Part of the value of Rodgers and certain receivers is a "whole is more than the sum of the parts" thing. They made a big mistake in retaining Rodgers and not accurately assessing how much of his value was tied to Adams.

Would rather go with Love + Lazard/Watson/Doubs/Toure than Rodgers + Cobb/Watson/Doubs/Toure though. I guess if Rodgers's trade value is way down, there might not be much point to trading him, but I hope they can at least get some draft capital for him. That's another potential silver lining if they play well down the stretch - rehabilitating his trade value would be a big win.

I'd rather keep Lazard and let Cobb go if it was down to one or the other. But if Aaron is in GB next fall, then Cobb will be too.

It won't surprise me if Big Dawg is back too, if Aaron is here. Tonyan's likely to be gone, and Degura is still on his rookie deal, correct?, so he's likely retained.

Lazard's only 27 and he's turned himself into a really solid possession guy and one of the best blocking WR's in football. Unless he gets really expensive, I'd make him more of a priority than I did/would of with a guy like MVS. Cobb's been a solid 3rd down dude who's good for 1-2 important catches a game, but that's pretty much the extent of his usefulness at this point. He'll be 33 years old and we really need to move on and find that next slot guy who has some more burst and play-making ability.

Best zone cornerback

Jaire Alexander, Green Bay Packers
We know Alexander has the traits to play aggressive and sticky man coverage, but I also see him as one of the top zone corners in the NFL due to his backfield vision and ball skills. In Green Bay's single-high and split-safety zone schemes, Alexander will disrupt throwing lanes, overlap second-level throws and match with vertical routes down the field. He has four interceptions and 12 pass breakups, and per NFL Next Gen Stats, opponents have minus-10.6 expected points added when targeting him in zone looks.
Runner-up: Charvarius Ward, San Francisco 49ers

The fact that we still can't manage to craft anything beyond a mediocre-to-bad defense around a guy who at times can completely shut-down one side of the field in the passing game, is probably the most damning evidence against Joe Barry.

He sure passes the eyetest too.

The short arms thing was a knock against Bulaga, IIRC. Injuries short circuited his career too soon, rather than basic ability
