Re: Training Camp Thread
From twitter and the JSonline blog, although nearly all those tweeting about practices are included in the blog.
By all accounts Cobb and DJ were outstanding picks. Good to see that they are still looking good with pads on.
Brandon Jones looks to be trying to reclaim his old starting role, reportedly great showing in 1v1s and tonight is his night to start with the 1s.
Crabtree seeing good action tonight. As many of you have discussed in the roster thread, I think it's looking more and more likely that Quarless, rather than Crabtree, may be on the outside regarding the last TE slot.

You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Sounds like Sherrod will be a serious work in progress. To be expected.

Definitely. I'm surprised that they're throwing him in there with the ones so early considering it's a position that he's never played and he had no offseason to work on it. That's gotta be tough. I would be shocked if he's able to get to where he needs to get in 4 weeks to be an effective opening day starter. I kind of hope that Lang can grab that spot and we can just groom Sherrod to take over for 76.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

It sounds like they are just trying to get him as many reps as possible because hes LG#1 and LT#2 His head is prolly spinning.

Re: Training Camp Thread
According to everyone on Twitter it sounds like Cobb is lighting it up tonight. Our WR depth is so ridiculous, I don't think any other NFL team has a position as deep as our WRs.

Not one of the ones who thinks Quarless is likely to get cut but I think it's clear he needs to get on the practice field soon.

MM: Cant say enough about DJ Williams and Ryan Taylor, rookie tight ends.

But from what I've seen so far here at Packers training camp, it won't be hard for Cobb to redeem himself. There are some players whose open-field running ability translates even in the most laid-back practices, and Cobb has shown the same kinds of glimpses we once saw from Percy Harvin, Devin Hester and others.

If Cobb is even close to the impact of a healthy Harvin or Hester, that would be awesome. Imagine giving Rodgers and Company shorts fields to work with. Plus I think the rest of the special team guys will try a little harder if they know there is a legit returner behind them.

Re: Training Camp Thread
McCarthy must go to bed at night fapping to his playbook. He could come up with the most off the wall, bat **** insane plays this season with the weapons he has. A guy being compared to Percy Harvin is the fifth wideout.

Bob McGinn
Second-year LT Marshall Newhouse could hardly have been more impressive in the #Packers' first practice in pads. Way early, but big promise.
Bob McGinn
#Packers rookie Derek Sherrod had a very rough night. First time ever in pads at LG. Not easy. Plus, he's spending time at LT. Stay tuned.

Agreed. He's my thumbs up tonight RT @PackerReport Most impressive O-lineman has been Marshall Newhouse. Long way to go but has looked good.

Re: Training Camp Thread
Could Newhouse be the one who starts at LG and kicks outside next year? I don't see why not.
