16-1 odds next year. Tied with the Vikings for 8th best, and slightly behind the Bears.

If I'm picking next year's super bowl match-up right now I'm going with Bears vs Patriots. Bears vs Pats or Pats vs an NFC team that everyone has pegged as 6-10 right now lol. If Brady and Belichick are back I don't see any reason to bet against them in 2019. Some people think the Bears were a fluke, I think it was a fluke that they didn't get the #1 seed and didn't win a playoff game this past season.

The odds of GB winning the SB in 2020 could go either way. Not only for this season but in the long term. This offseason is critical to the Packs' long term success. It really depends 1st on Gute then a distant 2nd on LaFleur. The Pack has some serious holes, BUT IF Gute gets the max value out of his draft and cap space resources - (I think he will) - then Pack will quickly regain their place as one of the favorites. If Gute mis-fires in the draft or consistently backs down if another team show competiton to sign FAs he's interested in - then the holes get bigger and more plentiful - it will become impossible to correct in one offseason and the rest of Rodgers' career is wasted

I want a Rodgers/Brady owl so bad just so Rodgers can get some vindication. Not a chance in f*cking hell he'd ever play as dogsh*t as Brady played yesterday in a super bowl.

My current theory on the order of priority....

1. Pass rusher, or preferably two. That should also help the defensive backfield as well.
2. Safety - Limited options among the returnees. Does Jackson slide over?
3. Backup QB - if Rogers goes down for any length of time, the season may be done. Kizer was a fine college QB, but doesn't seem to have it at the NFL level. Boyle is still a crap-shoot project. If Rogers remains healthy, then the new backup can learn the system.
4. Offensive line - Those fleeting times when Bulaga is healthy, he's fine; but the mileage has to be catching up with him. Bahktiari and Linsley are the only two keepers, and maybe a miracle cured Bulaga. After that, they're just guys
5. Tight End - A fading Graham and an unproven Tonyan aren't going to challenge defences much.

I don't care as much how the talent is brought on board; but fill the pass rusher roles first priority.

Headline seems a little misleading if you listen to the interview. Sounds like he's using "crazy" more casually than the headline appears to say.

Demovsky's bold Packer offseason prediction is that Gute will try to land Bell.

I have a terrible feeling that Bell will land a big contract and IMMEDIATELY get hurt a few weeks into the season.

Yeah, Demovsky may be plugged in and be hearing this as a possibility...and I mean I guess I could see value in having Bell split out wide ready for a quick screen + Jones in the backfield ready for a play out the other side...but given risk/$ I would not put Bell very far above Jones in "franchise-changing back" rankings.

That was under an old regime. I doubt LaFleur is going to be that obtuse.

And Jones' game is actually suited to LaFleur's. Jones excels at cut and go/bending plays back. LaFleur likes to run outside zone plays that tire and lull the defense by having them run sideline to sidleine and allow cutbacks.

So let me get this straight, the Packers have a **** ton of glaring needs at a bunch of positions, one of the few positions they are actually solid at right now is RB. So we're going to spend a bunch of of money to sign Bell in free agency? That would be beyond dumb.

All of Packers beat writerdom has been beating the Bell drum since like week 8 and it's just so dumb.

Wow finally some confirmation

https://theathletic.com/804779/

Packers offensive lineman Cole Madison has been away from the team since the conclusion of the offseason program in June. His absence has been shrouded in mystery, and now a return to football seems uncertain.

The Athletic Wisconsin has learned that Madison’s absence can be linked to emotional distress brought on by the suicide of a close friend and former teammate. Four sources said Madison has been deeply affected by the tragic death of Washington State quarterback Tyler Hilinski, who took his own life on Jan. 16, 2018, two weeks after playing in the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl.

And while Madison attempted to move forward with his professional career, sources said he eventually decided to separate himself from the game that left his friend with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, better known as CTE.

“The death of Tyler is in his head,” a source familiar with Madison’s situation told The Athletic Wisconsin. “I don’t think he’s coming back. At least he’s not showing signs of it right now.”
