Beyond that, I have always been accepting of the job Coan did but don't have any problems getting to see what Mertz can do.

Well, looks like this maybe came true...

Report I read said they still need to confirm it with a nasal swab test so I'm hoping it was a false positive.

Wolf is maybe the best 3rd string QB would ever be left with given they usually don’t have a high 3 star recruit with 2 years in the program in that position usually. But 3 games with @Neb and Michigan (Milton looked really good) makes it unlikely they’d keep winning without him.

Yeah I believe college is using the same fast saliva tests as other sports and the standard is then to verify with a nasal swab test which take 12-24 hours or so to get a result from.

I just had my 8th negative nasal swab test on Thursday

They've apparently had several false positives. Hopefully this is just another one.

My understanding is the oral test is around 60-70% accurate and the nasal swab around 95%. They almost never produce false negatives but will produce false positives more frequently. So those are basically the odds we are looking at of it being a false positive I believe.

This is like a very Bucks thing to happen.

Of course he's positive.

There were 4 guys out on Friday, none of them had reasons listed. Coan we know, Krumholz was on the field in sweats so likely not COVID. The other 2 guys are apparently Mertz's roommates and I don't think there is any report of them being on the sidelines...

Spencer Lytle was confirmed on the sidelines by one of the Badger reports, so COVID for him seems unlikely unless recent. Also he’s been dealing with a hammy apparently, so based in that it checks out.

It's been about 24 hours since the initial report we should be getting close to the time for the nasal swab test results to be available. Getting nervous here.

At least the Badgers didn’t prolong our heartbreak this year.

Outstanding.

Groshek was a QB in high school. Just saying...and I'm not totally joking. It's a weird season - let's get weird. Run some fun stuff.

We'll see what happens on Saturday if the game plays, I think this is the most confident one could be in a 4th QB for Wisconsin. The last few years with rebuilding the QB group, there was not great depth for Chryst. DVB is generally labeled as a decent QB given walk-on status. I think in most years he'd have been their #3 type and #4 might've been an assumed practice squad guy.

All of that said, winning @Nebraska will be tough. Even if they find their way to wildcat/Vanden Boom their way to victory over @Nebraska and Purdue, I think Michigan will kick the **** out of them. Our defense is great like Michigan's, but Milton looked very good for Michigan.

I'm not sure on technicality of when Mertz/Wolf can come back, but at the very best case (which I don't suspect is accurate), they could be activated literally on the Michigan game day, which probably would not go that well if Chryst/UW even agree to allow them to just be thrown right into the fire.

Drop the Boom, bring in Groshek for 8 - 10 wildcat plays, score 20 points, win by 3. Done Deal.

Only question is how many times will Adrian Martinez fumble? I'll set the O/U at .5

Mertz tested positive a second time. He's out for Nebraska, Purdue, and Michigan.
