Tressell is not an option because of his 5 year show-cause penalty. Not Wisconsin's style to try to appeal that.

My one concern is how this impacts the 2013 recruiting class, which was arguably Wisconsin's best in a while, especially in the secondary.

A lot depends on who we hire obviously, but I am pretty happy with the news. Too bad Chryst is already gone, probably no shot he would leave Pitt so soon to come back.

My worry is recruiting taking a hit, that was the one thing Bielema was very good at.

Like I said, outside of the known suspension or whatever that the Badgers would have to face for hiring Tressell, I think if you could move Ohio's recruiting base physically to where Madison is and get their donors/athletic code money, then yeah, I'll take vest.

Perfect time for Bielema to bounce from this job - right before OSU is eligible and right in the midst of 3 Straight Rose Bowl trips. His star has never been higher.

I do think he wasn't a great coach. I think he was a very good recruiter, but had a slimy disposition and average coaching ability. He will not be missed.

I'd be in on getting Tressel. I'd also take a look at Paul Chryst and Tom Clements. Regardless, I'm sure Barry will have guys knocking on the door.

I have a feeling Bielema will be the head coach at Iowa in about 3-5 years. Bielema could easily flame out in the SEC and in 3-5 years the Hawkeyes may be more willing to swallow Ferentz's deal.
