I know we're down a bunch of receivers, but Luke Musgrave and Savion Williams should be a lot better for being second and third round picks, respectively.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
I haven't been critical of MLF in the past but I feel like he's regressing. Is he stressing out and actually getting worse every game?
Let's see if the team can bounce back this week.
If you told me we held the super bowl champs to 10pts I would be thrilled we are superbowl bound with finally a decent Defense. Never imagined the offense could get this bad.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
I think the pressure is definitely getting to LaFleur. He knows anything less than a close NFC Championship loss this year and he is gone. Love’s safety blanket (Kraft) is gone now and the WR weakness of this team is truly being exposed. Love looks like he has lost confidence, the defense has been folding in crunch time probably because they are tired as hell, and as usual our Special Teams unit sucks. Time for a change. Rip the bandaid off right now mid season while maybe we can salvage it. Still highly doubtful with this roster on offense but at least the play calling would be better and us fans can enjoy the games. What we are watching now is cringe worthy. These late game botched plays / kicks are pathetic.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
The collapse of the Oline has put the focus on our shaky offensive philosophy and MLFs tendency to get rattled under duress. Last year with a good offensive line, we often got away with a conservative, run heavy approach. We weren't up against it as much, and it was easy to look at some of the wobbles of the offense as reflective of Love's injuries and his needing to improve in general. But the issues have been there for a while. Being a risk-averse 50/50 run team was questionable last year when we could actually run the ball.

MLF can be absolutely clueless when his initial game plan isn't working. A prime example of this was when Watson was out at MIN last year and Flores decided to play man because our deep threat was gone. MLF was completely dumfounded and we only scored 3 points in the first half.

I'm not sure there's any evidence out there that LaFleur has developed quality offensive assistants. Everyone who has left LaFleur has sucked in their new gigs. I have no reason to believe Steno is any different.

I mostly just don't think it can get any worse than MLF on offense.

Yeah, it can't get much worse than having a third of your games end in 13 points or less.
If we scored NINETEEN points in every game, we would have a better record (6-3) than we do now.

This defense is good enough to win us any game which makes the offensive ineptitude all the more humiliating. If they can't beat a Giants team with absolutely washed Russell Wilson, then you might as well just fold up shop on the season. What a crazy, depressing situation to be in just 50-days after we started 2-0 and looked like NFC juggernauts.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
With or without Dart we should crush this team but that can be said for Cowboys, Panthers, and Browns.
If Dart doesn't play you are facing a team with a backup QB, backup RB, best WR out for the year, and interim coach. If that score is even close Lafleur should have a foot out of the door. Don't want to hear any given Sunday or we need to execute. 5 divisional games, Broncos, and Ravens around the corner.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
Firing MLF mid-season is essentially giving up. Has an interim Head Coach ever had a deep playoff run?
If you want to move on from MLF you do it after the season when you have a full picture to look at. The only exception I could see to this is if you're sure Hafley is the next guy and some college teams start calling about him

The "should crush" thing doesn't really apply in the NFL. The Bills should have crushed the Dolphins last week and got whipped. The Eagles should have crushed these Giants in their first meeting but the Giants whipped them. Skattebo out hurts them but we have a ton of offensive injuries ourselves.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

True and if we were rolling the past few weeks I would understand that. However, our backs are against the corner. The Bills and Eagles in those games were in the same boat as us when we faced Cleveland, rolling through their opponents and took their opponent lightly while getting caught in the wrong week. We are coming off two of the worst losses in Lafleur's tenure and have already lost to two bad teams. Lafleur and company should be locked in and this needs to be a statement game for the NFL.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
Do you all think it is just a MLF playcalling blunder or just that our WRs never took that next step "yet". I think its a combo.

To be fair to MLF, the OL has underperformed all season long which is, imo, our main problem. Doesn't help that half our receivers are injured

Re: @Giants Lead Up
Lafleur in meeting stated Doubs injury still needs to be looked at but that Elgton Jenkins injury "That one doesn't sound promising." Love getting his two best offensive linemen hurt with dumb QB play is crazy. The horrible INT against the Lions caused Tom's injury and him taking a dumb sack while just standing there and collapsing into Jenkins leg being the other, therefore knocking us out of FG range. Just bad football.

Re: @Giants Lead Up
I don't believe for a second that this team is weak at WR. They have just been decimated there by injuries. Watson missed a huge chunk, Reed hasn't played all year, Wicks missed a few games, and now Golden is out. When Golden/Watson/Reed are all on the field, if it ever happens, with Doubs as our 4, that's a good corps.
I see two major issues that are intertwined:
1. MLF wants to be a strong running team that runs on 60%+ of downs. We do not have the interior OL talent to do so.
2. Love is better with the reigns taken off and letting him throw down field, but MLF doesn't trust him consistently to do so.
I put #1 on Gute. Drafting hasn't been good enough there, and Banks signing has been a bust. Jenkins there was a waste of his talent and now he's hurt.
I put #2 on MLF. Love is just simply not going to do well in a game manager role. He's going to be a high risk/high reward QB and the offense needs to adjust to that. Maybe it will once we start getting WR healthy. This team is not going to win games pounding Jacobs with a weak interior OL on 60% of the plays.

Jacobs also consistently going down at first contact isn't helping things. We discussed it a lot but at this point I'll say it......dude is 90% cooked. He can't be getting 20+ touches a game anymore. It's over.

I appreciate this post as I feel like I’m crazy with the way Jacobs is discussed as an elite running back.
He is at best average right now he can’t break tackles and he’s not fast. His best skill is having a nose for the end zone when we are near it but give me Emmanuel Wilson getting a bulk of the carries. His strength and speed jump off the screen when he replaces Jacobs.

There is a wide gap between being elite and cooked. Jacobs is neither.
