Remember too. Most refs won't be as nitpicky and anal as the ones we had tonight.

Yea, everybody knew running on them was going to be next to impossible. If anything I'm encouraged by the line's play tonight. They had some stupid penalties but I thought they did awfully well.

So it looks the excuses will be that we won because of the refs. Never mind the awful calls they made against us (leverage? I think that was the first time I've ever seen a penalty like that).

I think Grant did pretty well considering. But Brandon Jackson was awful.

Triplette's crew is always horrible. Although we got some calls ourselves too.

We sure tried to give the game away but a win over the Queens is sweet indeed.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Jackson looked like the back he was early last season. Very tentative whenever he touched the ball. If he keeps that up Lumpkin's going to see some time.

You have nothing to lose trying Lumpkin for a few carries. At least he doesn't shrivel up like Jackson.

That's preposterous if it happens. They took 7 points away for an inconsequential illegal man down field. They kept two Vikings' drives alive on picky pass interference calls. They gave the Vikings 15 yards of extra field position on that leverage call. The Packers had 12 penalties for 118 yards, and that's not even counting the yardage we lost on the Rodgers to Driver TD. They only had 9 penalties for 42 yards. How could the referees have jobbed them comparatively. They made the game at least 7 points closer than it should have been.

I totally agree. But just go and check out a few Vikings forums, I did as the game happened and I couldn't believe some of the comments. Some people said that the refs were paid off by us! Just check out this gem of a post from some Queens fan:

Observations:

We did not deserve to win this game. However, the referees did us no favors. I can think of 5 plays that should have beem called differently, and don't tell me that there were plays for the other side that could have gone their way. There was a no-call on a pass interference against Al Harris when he was covering Berrian in the first quarter. There was a blatant holding no call when someone grabbed Jared Allen's jersey. There was the no call against Wade. The "no catch" on the review on the Shaincoe play. The horse collar no-call. THAT was the killer. These refs sucked. Give Minnesota a break for once. #### almighty I swear Tim Donaghy works for the NFL too.

I'm just glad we survived and Hawk was able to play.....they need him badly out there.

This was a good win.

Great game by Rodgers and solid game overall.

But damn,Jeff Tripplette and his crew where in mid season form I say it at least once a year but I dont understand he and his crew remain in the league.

Our defense completely shut down their passing game (178 yards on 35 attempts). If Jackson doesn't make all those bust out plays with this feet (65 yards rushing), you're looking at a pretty dominant all-around performance. The DL, even though it only got one sack, was getting consistent pressure all game long, and that got to Jackson.

Yeah they were inches away from several sacks.

I agree it got to Jackson at the end on that INT, but I don't see the D's performance tonight as outstanding. The Vikings won the time of possession by 5-6 minutes and ran about 20 more plays. For whatever reason, until that interception at the end, we just couldn't "3 and out" them tonight at all. But the defense really didn't give up the killer big play, so in that respect they bent but didn't break.

I feel better about the defense than I did before this game, but the next few games will prove out how good or bad Tavaris Jackson really is and how we benchmark this game. It could either be that Jackson is damn elusive, so that when we play a traditional pocket passer we'll convert those close misses into sacks. Or maybe the pure passer is able to cut us apart. Don't know.

Critiques aside, a quality win.

For our O-line to get off to such an awful start and still no one panicked was a great gut check for this team. McCarthy getting too conservative at the end of both halves kept this game closer than it could have been.

That was probably the most surprising thing for me tonight. I've been worried about the D-line and the Vikes have a pretty good O-line even without McKinnie(who kinda sucks anyway). They were getting more pressure consistently than even last year. If that continues then I can see where the people who think this team can be really good are coming from.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!
