Spotrac is also pretty good. I've been playing around with their manage roster tool a bunch and they have estimated market values for bigger name impending FA's.

They'll be under once they cut Rhodes, and make Joseph restructure or get cut. Maybe even Rudolph too. The X Factor for them is if Cook holds out. That could really screw them.

BTW just kudos on BG understanding our weakness at ILB. I've been pleading for an ILB since I literally cant remember when only to have idiots tell me you dont really need 'em in today's NFL.

And that goes well since Reggie Ragland in the draft, one of about 100 guys that blew up the Niners run tonight about 1000 times better than any ILB on our roster for a decade could possibly hope to.

Austin Hooper would be a good fit in our offense and I assume will be had at a bargain.

I think TEs are going to explode on this market after Kittle gets paid this offseason and resets the market. Jimmy Graham is the highest paid TE in the league at 10m per. Kittle is estimated to fetch 13m per or so. So, our top targets are going to be looking at less than that, but probably around the 10m range. It's basically an even swap with Graham.

I'd love Hunter Henry, even with his injury issues, as I think he's got top-tier TE ability. Austin Hooper would be a decent option as a fallback. Ebron is also a FA but he hasn't quite lived up to his potential.

If that's the way the market falls out, would it make salary cap sense to find an ILB on the FA market and another TE through the draft? Or, just bite the bullet and pay? Then there's WR talent to add too....

That's the game Gute has to play. My guess is that they'll want to settle lock down their priority FAs before the draft and then that'll help dictate who they go after in the draft itself. I admittedly don't pay a lot of attention to the draft, so I'm not sure if there's a deep pool of starting-level TEs coming in. But WR is so deep in this draft that you have to imagine that they'll use their picks to add receivers. Then it's all about who falls when and where.

None of that will matter if the DL is getting pancaked and two OL are blocking the ILB. We desperately need to upgrade from the Northwestern guys.

Yep, you could have prime Patrick Willis back there, but doesn't matter if 300+ lb dudes are routinely getting to the 2nd level cleanly.

While true, this is the thinking that had us reaching for Datone Jones and Worthy and the like.

Any word on if Lafluer has hired a WR coach yet? I wonder if he's waiting to hire his brother? Although would WR coach be a raise from passing game coordinator?

I agree to a point with you guys, but in our scheme they're just supposed to occupy four guys and we already have a supposed Pro-Bowl level talent at one of the spots (Clark). They essentially do okay at that...(sort of)

Would have been nice if the preseason hype with MAdams was real.

Definitely could use an upgrade though, no doubt. So many holes...toward the end of TT/MM we were essentially a 5-11 team but with Aaron Rodgers.

He was the whole package, including a hard hitter.

In Jerry Kramer’s “Instant Replay” book, the Hall of Fame lineman wrote: “Next to Lombardi, Wood scares his own teammates more than anybody else does. Wood even scares Ray Nitschke. ‘I hate to miss a tackle,’ Ray says, ‘‘cause if I do, I know I’m gonna get a dirty look from Willie. He’ll kill you with that look.’”

He had been suffering from dementia for about a decade. The New York Times told his story in 2016.

Wood likes to wear a green Packers cap most days now as he sits in his sunny room listening to jazz and 1950s doo-wop. Wordlessly and impassively, he will point to the logo on the cap as if he knows it has some shadowy meaning in his life. But specifics elude him.

When asked about various photographs on the walls next to him — pictures of his wedding or the day in 1989 when he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame — Wood stares vacantly.

“Do you remember going into the Hall of Fame, Willie?” Dee Dee Daniels, an assistant living coordinator at the center where Wood lives, asked one morning last month.

Wood cast his eyes downward and shook his head side to side: no.

“You were the best of the best,” Daniels said.

Wood, who sometimes goes days without speaking, suddenly looked up, his eyes glistening as he raised an eyebrow as if to say, “I was?”

Damn, I forgot about that story in the Times. I remember that quote at the end and how heartbreaking it was to read it.

His brother just signed a new contract extension so it won't be him.
