He withdrew his name after they wouldn't hire the GM he wanted.

In Leftwich's defense, the current GM is known sh*thead Trent Balke.

Yes, also part of my pointGood on Leftwich for refusing the job unless they hired a new GM, and the Jags **** this all up by not doing it.
I kind of feel like Doug Pederson is a pretty decent coach to land on. Will probably do a lot for Lawrences career and growth. Leftwich would have been fine as well, but overall, decent fit.

I can't believe they still play the pro bowl. Just switch it to a skills competition, like I want longest pass by a non QB competition and do a fastest man race.

It's one thing to ask for a new GM, and another to demand they hire a specific person to replace him. At that point you're wading into the Murphy-Gute-Ball "Who runs the show here?" territory that this board has had problems with.
And "stupid" is pretty harsh for deciding to hire a guy who won a SB with a backup QB.

There are not firm reports that that he "demanded" they hire Wilson/his guy. There are reports that he said he would not work with Baalke, and that he pushed for Wilson as a replacement. That is much different. We may never know for sure, but I think it's a bit far fetched to think a never-been head coach would walk into a room and demand one particular guy be the GM or else he wouldn't take the job.

As for Pederson, it's not about him. He's fine, though I think not exciting. It's about Kahn choosing a GM no one likes over the coach they originally wanted, and his track record of poor management. Jacksonville fans despise both of these guys and I think for good reason.

Nah. MI fills up during the early signing period. February is typically slow.
It looks like it’ll be another calm February Signing Day for Michigan.

Does anyone watch the pro-bowl still? I had it on in the background and looked up to them running plays and this is embarrassing lol. They should just get rid of it.

I lasted through two plays and decided that working a crossword puzzle was far more exciting....
Ditch the embarassing fake-game. Do some skills competitions as others have suggested

I'm not watching the game but have seen a few "highlights". It looks like they're actually playing two hand touch.

50% speed with what is essentially 2 hand touch football. Riveting stuff. End the pro bowl please.

Except the game where they were the first team in 33 years to block a field goal & a punt in the same game.
Amazing how truly bad we were on ST this year.
