Anyone who knocks out a woman cold should go to prison. Hope he gets the higher side of the 3-5.

Eagles have released DeSean Jackson. Not really surprised.

He'll probably end up on the Jets, he is the kind of guy Rex would go after.

Re: ATL: Offseason
I'm not sure he signs anywhere right now. There are reports that 2 guys he's closely connected to via the LA gang are connected to 2 homicides.

Pretty crazy. I am sure soon we we will Jackson's name on the news being questioned for a double homicide or something and it will make more sense.

Re: ATL: Offseason
Jackson is denying a lot of it and teams have contacted him. I'm probably off on my "teams won't pick him up" thing but there does seem to be some smoke to the fire that he's at least involved with some gang activity in some way. A lot of pictures and comments from the LA police.
From the way the stuff reads, nothing really putting him into any involvement in those homicides, but we'll see.
Can't be the best pickup if a team where he is nearly a perfect fit has to cut him after they made a substantial investment in him.

Re: ATL: Offseason
Pretty easy, if I sign him to a contract I put a clause in there that allows me to void it completely if DeSean is involved in any and all gang related activities. If he refuses, he is obviously hiding something and if he accepts there is no risk.

Re: ATL: Offseason
Every NFL team had the opprotunity to do that for a conditional 7th rounder. By trading for him they git him with zero guaranteed money, for three years, and all while giving up virtually nothing. Its more telling of what the league wide thought is on him than anything else.
Also, why is it this always seems to happen with WR's.

apparently the eagles decided not to trade him because they didn't want to 'unload his problems' on another team. you can bet they did their diligence, so if they are willing to cut him with no compensation, something is way up.

No one wanted that contract, even without gang ties. Anything else is just adding to that.

I actually thought he was pretty electric at points last year. Don't know what he's thinking.
I've followed the Raiders somewhat closely, it is a little surprising because you're right, while inconsistent he was a playmaker and showed flashes with his arm and his legs, and he's still pretty young.
Going into week 17 Pryors agent said publicly that the Raiders were trying to sabotage him by letting him play claiming they were setting him up to fail to make the decision to go with Matt McGloin in the previous weeks look good. He tried to distance himself from those comments later but I wouldn't be surprised if he was doomed within that organization since then.

What contract? There is no guaranteed money in trading for him. The Eagles pay it all trade or release. The best bet of getting a headache player to turn his ordeal around is to make him feel wanted. You do that by a trade and his remaining non-g'd contract (of which again one can just simple release without any committed money). Rather than trying to get him to sign a Peppers like deal of which weve been shown time and time again with him will be an issue. If Philly is willing to eat that kind of cash and simply let go of that kind of production. A team who signed Vick, worked out issues with Riley Cooper, and has the affinity for that type of player doesnt want you. There is something seriously effed up about you.

Re: ATL: Offseason
Based on what I've read about Jackson's so-called "gang ties," I'm pretty sure I would be considered to have "gang-ties." That was low on the Eagles to leak that **** story.
If they wanted to release him because he didn't fit with the chemistry of the team or because they thought he was overpaid, that's fine. But don't slander him on the way out.

Those are just the actual reports and verifiable facts that a reporter had to do the story. I'm sure after this many years they have witnessed first hands who he hung out with and his involvement with these gangs. There are plenty of NFL guys from bad neighborhoods, so Djackson must have stood out as being someone with too much involvement.

I guarantee you that if there were more facts to the story, the Eagles would've leaked that as well.
But right now, it's clear to me that the Eagles leaked this story to give them cover for releasing arguably their best offensive weapon (Shady McCoy might be better, but I am factoring in Jackson's special teams contributions) either because they were too cheap or because Jackson and Kelly didn't see eye-to-eye.

Has Jackson ever been in trouble off the field? Seems weird that this would pop up now.
Also odd that a team worried about character issues employs Riley Cooper.

Other than being a bit of an annoyance in the locker room at times, I haven't heard anything bad about him, especially in a criminal nature.
I'm it's the same guy who did this not too long ago.

His antics on the field are no worse than what Swaggy P does in an NBA game, but at least he can back it up.

Why do I have a feeling that Jackson is going to end up in Carolina?

Are you sure? As far as I can tell anyone trading for him would be on the hook for most of this year and 2015. It would be after 2015 that they could cut him with little or no cap repercussions. (Could be wrong).
