Ideally you'd get him in round 2, but I think he's long gone by then.
What do you think makes Chinn a better round 2/3 prospect than Logan Wilson? (he was brought up a couple of pages back)
Honestly, I'm going mostly on some of the draft write ups. I haven't watched much college ball in the last couple of years.
Chinn's as good an athlete in this draft as there is, maybe outside of only Simmons.
Here is PFF thoughts, reminds me a lot of a guy named Aaron Rouse back in the day
Chinn has peak athletic tools for the safety position, but he's far more athlete than football player at this point. The tape says late
round project at this point.
Even against FCS competition at Southern Illinois this
past season, Chinn looked consistently a tick slow.
Whether it was him coming downhill on a screen or
reacting to a route break, Chinn's processing speed left
a lot to be desired. That only got amplified at the week
of practices at the Senior Bowl where he lost all three of
his one-on-one coverage reps and failed to make many
plays throughout the week. He's an intriguing athlete for
sure, but he'll have to get schemed easy reads at the
NFL level to make an impact early on in his career.
NFL player comparison
Josh Jones
Chinn dunked on every drill he
participated in at the Combine. He
has an elite, explosive athletic
profile, which is even more
impressive at his listed weight of
221 pounds
