I had the thought today, we all thought Watson was suppose to be their Deebo like player, but could it really be Watkins that MLF might ask to do some of those things?

This is going to be an incredibly interesting story to watch, this WR corp and how they gel or don't gel with Rodgers. Feels like some really dynamic players if we can figure out how to make it all work.

Seems like Winfree is poised to have a big camp again. Going to really muck up the wr position if so.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

Don't think Watkins is really capable of those same kind of explosive plays anymore, which is why I wasn't all that thrilled he was the main FA acquisition on the offensive side. His YAC average has gone down in each of the last 4 seasons (6.0, 5.7, 4.2, to now just 3.5). He's fine at what we signed him for, whatever. He just doesn't have the same burst, and expectations probably shouldn't be high.

Didn't know Lazard was holding out.

On one hand, I get it.....he is worth more than 1 yr/4mil. On the other, is he asking for #1 wr money?

So does he want 3/30 like MVS?

There hasn't been an reports in what he wants other then he wants a long term deal. Don't think he gets it

He probably understands that he probably will never again have the kind of leverage he has now considering how the high end talent at WR is very raw and that even if he waits till next year, unless he has a monster year, that talent maturing will lessen his leverage on way or another

What are the odds that Rogers and Doubs are 1A and 1B at this point, and Cobb is there mostly to prevent Biasaccia from having a stroke..... At least till one or the other youngsters shines.

Plus, depending on rehab timetable, Kylin Hill may be an option too.

Just get a reliable pair of hands back there that can fair catch every.....single.....punt. It's not even proper training camp yet, and I'm already sick of hearing about the special teams.

After years of special teams suckage I'm happy there is a big time emphasis on ST finally.

It only took an entire season of suckage, capped off by that unit basically single handedly losing you a playoff game to do it.

Maybe he's not what he hoped to be, but that's a more realistic evaluation and self-expectation setting than I've heard from a lot of players past the peak of their performance bellcurve. Too many of them seem to think time and mileage don't exist.

I like Lazard a lot, but him skipping mini-camp is interesting.

And the funny thing is that he is 1 year younger and has 30% less mileage than Davante. If somehow he can beat his injuries, he will be very helpful for our squad.

Yes and no. If he comes out and tears his achilles there is a good chance he never earns above a minimum contract ever again. If he waits until June 15th to sign, he gets this year at 4M and there is at least a chance that he gets some kind of extension offer, a small chance, but a chance. Rodgers hyping him as the #1 guy was, um, very interesting.
