It's explosiveness like that that Jones and Zombo don't have. He's just a much better physical specimen.

I didn't think he looked that explosive on that one. This one, on the other hand...

Great balance on both plays.

Was listening to Wilde on the SVP show, and when asked who has stuck out among rookies he said that the reporters in Green Bay are starting to make the joke of when will Cobb walk on Water. Sounds like he's been a revelation.

I'm going to be really interested in seeing him this preseason. Maybe this won't make sense, but I'm wondering if Cobb is a guy you have to get the ball to, vs a guy you can get the ball to. What I mean is some guys are just mismatches depending on how they're used. I thought Reggie Bush was going to be that kind of weapon, but he wasn't. You can get him the ball, but you wouldn't make a priority to do so because he isn't really a huge threat. On the other hand, you have Percy Harvin, a guy with elite tools who commands the attention of the defense when he's on the field. It's in a team's best interest to try and get him the ball. I see Finley in that category.

Hope that made some kind of sense.

It makes sense to me what you're saying. I trust MM to put the right personnel on the field, but assuming that Finley + the top 5 WR stay healthy, it's going to be really tough to get Cobb touches unless he's just head and shoulders above Nelson and Jones in practice. I mean, I don't even see very many 5 WR sets at all, it will be Finley + 4 WR. It's going to be very interesting to see how touches are distributed amongst the receiving threats though.

If Cobb shows a knack for making plays after the catch, then it would behoove us to find ways to get him on the field so that he can make plays. If he's as good as they're talking him up to be, he's going to be good enough to get creative for.

Donald Driver as the 5th WR FTW!

Agreed. While we use a lot of weapons, we do have a pretty traditional offense in the sense that our WRs run lots of ins, slants and flags. Not many handoffs to WR's or end-arounds or bubble screens. If Cobb is worth getting the ball to in space we could really see some different stuff with him.

McCarthy goes to sleep almost every night fapping about all the options he is going to have.

How in the world are we going to spread the ball around to all these guys?

Jennings
Driver
Jordy
Jones
Cobb

Finley
DJ Williams

Starks
Grant
Kuhn

And to a lesser extent, Green and AQ?

Finley running up the seam, Cobb in the slot, Jennings on the outside. The possibilities are endless. This is why I'm going to be disappointed if we don't score 30+ ppg this year. Barring Rodgers getting injured, I just don't see how you stop this offense. I mean, either DJ Williams or Quarless is our 8th best receiving threat, DD could very well be argued as #6.

I like optimism, but this might be going slightly too far. :)

The scary part of all this is we were a defensive team last season, not an offensive power. Losing Jenkins is a blow, but we'll have Bishop, Green and Walden from the get-go and get Neal and Burnett back.

I'm not even overly concerned with injuries anywhere either. Losing Rodgers for the season would be a death blow, but I think Flynn is good enough to win with if we needed him for a few games.

Regarding Neal. Yesterday from what reporters were saying the team had a very sloppy practice and McCarthy was as upset with his team as he has ever been in his entire tenure here as coach.

But there was one player he was praising. He said that Neal looked very good and he hoped his injury was completely in his past because he looked great.

Rodgers to reporters:

"Practice? We talking about practice?" the quarterback said at Tuesday's media session. "We're not talking about a game. We're talking about practice...Practice?

I think we should put in Newhouse as an extra lineman on the right side for some power runs like we used to do with ahman green.

I don't see that as being MMs style, especially with this roster.
