Re: 2021 Packers Off Season - Rodgers Wants Gute Canned
If there is a way to trade Rodgers, King for Bridgewater, Surtain, Jeudy and some first and seconds, I think that might be the best resolution. Keep in mind, the media will be twisting this knife in our side all season, every interview, every talking head, every tweet will be trying to open the wound.
Bridgewater gives Love one more year before he is in the spotlight, Jeudy gives us that other big time WR we have desired and a Surtain, Stokes, Alexander, Savage, Amos secondary has potential to be the best in the league. I think that is making the best of a bad situation.

If we can get more than a first and a second for Jamie Tartt, might be for the best to do it.

Denver is more likely to move Chubb than Jeudy from what I have seen. They are not acquiring Rodgers to play with a bunch of schlub WRs.
Chubb, Surtain and a 2022 1st is one deal that has been bandied about (possibly another later pick).
Chubb, Gary, Z, and Preston with that secondary might be just enough to overcome the Northwestern doughboys and the nobodies playing all those snaps on the D line and ILB.
And nothing would be more Green Bay Packers than to finally, finally get a legitimate top 10 Defense ... with Teddy F'ing Bridgewater at QB.
Would just about guarantee another winning season, maybe the playoffs, and perhaps a different type of loss as they inevitably flame out of the playoffs short of the Super Bowl.
Packer fans might even get to celebrate another NFC North Title.
Make it happen Gute.

There's no reason to bring in another QB unless it's a (very) cheap backup for Love. There's no way Bridgewater would start over Love.

If we’re trading with Denver, I’d actually want Fant over Jeudy. But I’m a really big Fant stan

Zero chance Love is ready. He's already demonstrated his inability to adapt by leading the NCAA in interceptions after a coaching change. I probably shouldn't bring that up, as mysteriously TDs and interceptions no longer matter on this board
One useless interrupted season of watching isn't going to help much either. If anything he's further behind now. He's at least a year away, probably 2.
If it comes to trading Rodgers the most important part of the trade is a bridge quarterback. Bridgewater would be perfect.

Dude threw more pick sixes in 1 season than Rodgers did in the last 15 years. But keep dreaming.
He's definitely got potential to be a good, if not great QB. But zero chance he's ready now. None.

I'm simply saying he's a better option than Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy is awful and doesn't have the experience of being in MlF's offense for a season.

Re: 2021 Packers Off Season - Rodgers Wants Gute Canned
See two truths with Rodgers situation.
1) Think the organization let him down in the 2011-2018 period. TT and MM we're both kept on too long after the 2010 SB. And that fault comes back to Mark Murphy. All three of those guys rode Rodgers all-world talent, while their own job performance lagged. For that Aaron has a right to be frustrated.
2) In 2018, Rodgers looked cooked physically and mentally. I think he's capable of looking that way pretty quick in 2021 as well. (agenda alert - If Momma's not happy, no one is happy. Have strong belief the new fiancé will not be a helpful partner in things if he stays in Green Bay this year).
If we could find a dumb team to give us a king's ransom for him, we have to count our blessings and move on IMO. The December 2018 version of Rodgers was not bringing us back any real assets in trade for him.

Anyone then. The key to coming out of this successful is not eroding Love's confidence.

Key question IMO: who is easier to replace, Gute or Rodgers?
This is business, can’t make it personal. Sure Rodgers is acting like a total diva/may have some legit beefs, but he’s also an MVP QB (last year). Gute seems like a decent, middling GM. Can his ass and take 2 more swings at the Super Bowl, imo.
I know it upsets our Midwestern sensibilities, but look at it this way. Gute made a huge bet against Rodgers. Placed his whole stake on it. He lost spectacularly. Rodgers won. Lose a bet like that? Lose your seat at the table.

I'm curious to know why you're so confident that a first round QB who sat a full year wouldn't be ready in year two.

Gute and MLF said that they don't even know what they have in Love - so very unlikely Love is ready to go - unless you want to endure a trainwreck of a season. Gute also said that he has made some calls to veteran QB's. That NEVER happens. That's the biggest tell of all.

Re: 2021 Packers Off Season - Rodgers Wants Gute Canned
My immediate concern with Love is the altered OTA's, abbreviated training camp and no preseason games last year. I'd love for him to go through that before handing him the keys. On the other hand he has the benefit of learning the offense for a year which no other QB would have.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Instead of Bridgewater, could we have Lock instead? LaFleur might be able to utilize his arm skill and see if they can resurrect him a bit.

One more crack at a SB. The roster is getting gutted in '22 if Rodgers is still on the roster. That's where, if anything, Gute succeeded. He structured Rodgers' deal with an opt out after '21 that makes keeping the roster intact doable. Rodgers gets moved, Love steps in.
If Rodgers is around in '22 this roster is a dumpster fire.

No, I've been watching Teddy Bridgewater.
