I know some members of congress are talking about legislation to regulate college sports. I don't want that, congress would muck it up. But something needs to be done.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I’m SHOCKED that the Big Ten is supporting UW in this and has an implied threat against Miami in moving forward

I think they saw this as an opportunity for the first step in the, "fine. You guys wanted to get paid officially, now the big powerful employers are going to push their weight around and push you to sign actual contracts." Also similar to the biggest companies pushing around the little ones with the BIG vs. ACC/Miami.

Ohio State paid $20 million in NIL last season. Do we know what the Badgers paid?

This has been rumored to be in the works for a while.

I selfishly hope it works out and he returns as a Badger, but honestly, it doesn’t make much sense. If/when he wins, we’re essentially in an unlimited participation era.

Like if NCAA DII seasons shouldn’t count, why should NCAA DI seasons count?

I don't mind this. Realistically, D2 aren't making much/if any NIL money and it will help the D1 product having older, experienced guys extend their earning potential, while not necessarily having a future in the sport. Should also help those lower tier schools recruit with the potential make a name for yourself and move on without penalty.

I think I generally agree (as long as the slippery slope doesn't make its way to D1), but one of the byproducts here is that we'll end up with more 25 year old college players. You can effectively then all-but-graduate - or maybe even graduate - in D2, then go play four years in D1.

At this point I am just waiting for someone to sue saying they should be able to play as long as they are enrolled in a class regardless of years of eligibility

I was thinking more along the lines of the 'I've switched my major seven times and finally settled on general studies' approach :D
