Well I think right now Matthews is probably the superior player. Peppers has been dominant for most of the year though. Matthews also has to put up 3-4 more 10+ sack seasons before he can be mentioned with Peppers in terms of being as good as him for a career.

Calling Clay Matthews a 'product of the system' and 'just a guy' is stupid. What system? The 3-4? So are all of the Steelers OLBs 'products of the system' too? Is Peppers a product of the 4-3? :-?

Most of the time Matthews lines up outside, beats a man and pressures/sacks the QB or gets doubled... Just like any other pass rusher, only he is probably the best in the business at it right now.

The thing is no one was trying to tell him Pepper wasn't a great player, Peppers is. He was arguing that if you put Clay on any other team he wouldn't be a good player like he is now and then somehow the burden of proof was on Packers fans to show that he would still be a good player. He was just being a blind Bears homer in his arguments.

I mean if you put him on a 4-3 team where he isn't rushing the QB as much and stuff maybe he isn't as effective. He can cover though and he can make plays in space and such... I think he'd be good in that system as well, just not as good.

But I mean, you put him on any team that runs a 3-4 and he's going to get you 7-8 sacks... Then if you have some talent around him that can pressure from the other side or some defensive linemen who eat up blockers where they can't always double him he'll get you 10+.

It really is sorta sickening that this team barely made it in as the 6th seed.

Thankfully, it doesn't matter now. I don't really know how much of a disadvantage we're at playing in ATL over Lambeau, Rodgers is a stud in domes. Rather play in Lambeau than Chicago if it gets to that point, but whatever.

We were one win from being the #2 seed (correct?)so I don't think we massively underperformed.

Yeah. If Calvin Johnson doesn't celebrate to early, we are the 2 seed and the Bears are out of the playoffs. FML.

Listening to the meatheads on Chicago sports radio, a lot of them seem to think that.

Idiots.

Being the masochist Wisconsin sports fan that I am...say we beat ATL and make it to the NFCC game, what would hurt more...losing to the Bears or losing to a 9-9 Seattle team? I only bring this up because for whatever reason ESPN2 had an NFL Films program on the other night at the bar from the 2007 NFCC game. Wow, was that painful to see again.

So if Calvin makes that catch (assuming nothing else changes), the Packers are a two seed and are hosting a playoff game against either the Eagles or Seahawks.
