With the precedents they are setting, they probably shouldn't/won't play fall 2021, either.

Of course I think they'll come to their senses, but if your fear is the virus running through a football team, the threat will be there in 2021.

Pray for the pharmaceuticals. They're our only hope.

Can we just lump Clemson and Ohio St in with the SEC and play it out? No other teams have typically mattered lately anyway.

I think we're going to have a vaccine by the end of this year. But it'll take time to inoculate enough folks, so I think they should plan to just cancel the 2020 season and start again next fall.

It might not be fully effective and may take several years.

I realize I'm being a bit flippant. If they're afraid of any litigation of a player catching it in team activities, fine. I get it.

Things may not go as perfectly as some think over the next year, though. I hope your optimism comes true that the vaccine is effective and inoculates most of the population. Because otherwise, they've boxed themselves in by fearing almost any risk, which I understand will change in a year if we know we're stuck with it.

What is hilarious to me is that they apparently are going to have 20 hours of practice/team time per week now. Lol, what?

They've stated that their experts said this is very dangerous and not worth the risk. OK, fine.

So now they've basically said, "eh, we think this is really risky but we're just going to put our players at risk of some spread, not all spread that they may get from contact drills/games/travel. But they can all sit in the same gym for 5 hours/week."

I wonder if the NCAA will grant waivers for immediate transfer to players on teams that are sitting it out...

Missouri/LSU was great. And this Texas/Oklahoma game is great too
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Sometimes I forget Bielema is no longer at ARK and I can stop rooting against them.

Experiencing some major schadenfreude right now, as a result of **** Mullen. I, of course, hope everyone 100% recovers with no lasting effects. I just can't get over how horribly stupid Mullen is and how imperfect this timing is for him.

When he was calling for 90k fans in the stands because he was butt hurt over losing on the road I knew he was insane. Definitely a bit of schadenfreude when they had to shut down.

Florida/LSU is postponed.

Nick Saban is positive.

This is going really well.

They were going to be practicing regardless even if they didn't play games given what we saw with the B10 before returning

We don't know if Saban got it from football activities

He'll be fine

They built slack into the schedule specifically so they could postpone games for this stuff

What is your deal with downplaying this at literally every opportunity? As if hundreds of thousands of people haven't died. Or come out of this with lung damage. Or brain fog.

Saban might be fine. Anyone might be fine.

Or, you know, they absolutely won't be.

Look back at your posts early in baseball season, early football season...see where your brain was there and chill. Remember? "LOL, we're not gonna have football" and hysteria about the baseball season.

Yes, lasting effects of viruses are nothing new. I'm sure if publications go out picking up every rock to find them, you'll be scared off by what could come of pneumonia or the flu as well.

I understand that it's serious (but not nearly as serious as some want it to be) and that pushing games back due to guidelines is newsworthy. Can we have an armistice to just enjoy sports and such since this whole dilemma of, "it's too dangerous to ______" likely still has nearly 18 months to go? I'll stop incessantly posting "it's fine" if others stop acting like half of the team will be unable to walk up stairs and Nick Saban is going to die. Deal?

*gestures wildly everywhere*

How can anyone possibly think we should be playing football?

I naively thought public safety would trump the dollar but LOL I was wrong.

Yes, it is me, crazy person, that believes humans have always existed and enjoyed life in the wake of risks to an extremely small percentage of others. This is different than the flu currently, but I hope you at least realize that this risk doesn't magically end in like March or April even on an optimistic timeline. If you want to put everyone's life on hold now, you are likely putting this out for years.

Again, go back weeks or months to your thoughts on all of these sports and the fact that college campuses in-person was happening (yeah, that one was for the dollar) and just remember how, "omg we can't do this" has been said at every turn...and we've done it and everyone has been fine.

Also, "the dollar" does severely affect others than may not die from COVID.

This is a football board...let's talk about football.

If Nick Saban dies or has severe brain fog, I will agree to never post on this again. When he is out there coaching in a few weeks, you guys will stop posting fear of death every day about this. Deal?

How about this instead: zero people die from Corona from here on out, and you can post as much as you want about how everyone will be fine?
