How could we afford Littleton at this point? That would be great but hard to believe

What do you think is a good value for Littleton at this point? 4 yr 44 mil?
I have no idea just asking. If it's around there pack could cut Taylor and get to 20 mil or so. After draft picks (8-10mil) they could fit Littleton in but would be tough.

They have enough cap space right now for him n can always restructure to get xtra if a team wants someone bad enough and said player will vastly improve a position you can work the books to make it fit

Packers may not even have 8 picks they could trade up in 1st or 2nd and lose 1 or 2

If they sign Littleton you hace to think that most of draft will ve on the O side except maybe 1 D tackle in their though i heard rumors packers were interested in that DT from the ravens

In this scenario, what is Kirksey's role? Replacement for Burks? Fackerl, or what?

Sign Littleton and cut Taylor.

Hes not really a replacement for Fackrell any way you slice it. I'd guess that his role is simply to be the #2 ILB filling Burks spot. Would rather have a thumper next to Liddleton in this scenerio though but it seems like they want to go with coverage LBsTreebeard wrote:Daver wrote:neiLz wrote:What do you think is a good value for Littleton at this point? 4 yr 44 mil?

Wait till have the draft and sign a run stuffer or two if no one falls in the draft. Those types of guys normally dont go early in FA and I'd guess that the idea would be to use more of a 1 d linemen scheme in most passing situations with Z Smith and Gary putting their hand on the ground a lotDaver wrote:If they sign Littleton you hace to think that most of draft will ve on the O side except maybe 1 D tackle in their though i heard rumors packers were interested in that DT from the ravens

No Extension Forthcoming for Clark
Bill Huber
GREEN BAY, Wis. – The San Francisco 49ers traded defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for a first-round pick, with the Colts quickly signing Buckner to a contract extension worth a reported $21 million per season.
That means it wasn’t only a good day for Buckner but for Green Bay Packers standout Kenny Clark.
Buckner and Clark were first-round picks in 2016, with Buckner being the seventh pick of the draft and Clark the 27th. Both players were set to play the 2020 season under their fifth-year option. Buckner’s contract extension sheds some light on Clark’s future deal. That future deal isn’t coming anytime soon, though. A source said that won’t be coming until after free agency.
Time is not of the essence. Clark’s option is worth $7.69 million for 2020. However, an extension could have lessened Clark’s 2020 cap hit and provided a bit more cap space for general manager Brian Gutekunst to shop in free agency.
Clark positioned himself for a massive payday. He finished second on the team with 89 tackles. Having played 869 snaps, that equates to 9.76 snaps per tackle. He had a team-high 11 stuffs (a tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage vs. the run), up from eight last year. His average tackle limited the gain to 1.8 yards, according to Sports Info Solutions, by far the best on the team.

Lol, Sollenberger/PFT has gotten some of these right before, but do you know what this account is?

Cap space is weird in the NFL and hard to follow. You can always make room by restructuring contracts to reduce cap hits.

Two thoughts on an extension for Clark.
a) Realize the NFL is pretending to be immune from Covid-19 at the moment, but do think smart players and agents will take deals now, to lock in secure dollars and bonuses. I sure would. If Clark doesn't want to offer a discount in this environment, then pass.
b) He's still under contract for what might be Aaron Rodgers last stand here in 2020. Not really concerned on going past 2020 with a mega-deal for Clark at the moment (and I realize a Clark restructure might pick up some small cap room this season).
