Why I believe expertise is grossly overrated in NFL coaching/management (also pretty much everywhere else). People just know the right people.

Fortunately we didn't promote Rayna Stewart.

Shawn Slocum, Ron Zook, Shawn Mennenga, Maurice Drayton.

The last 2 were promoted from assistant ST coach. At least we aren't doing that again.

I think it's huge factor in the leagues minority hiring issues. There's so much nepotism and cronieism at the entry levels of coaching that it fills the pipeline with a closed group. I think this extends down to the college ranks too.

Best way to have more minority head coaches is having more minority coordinators, the best way to have more minority coordinators is to have more minority position coaches, ect. NFL needs to reverse engineer the problem to find an actual solution.

Hell money is a key barrier to getting into coaching. Lots of entry level jobs pay little or nothing so if you don't have a financial support system you can't take one of those jobs.

I agree alot of coaches have failed in GB as ST coach so maybe its just that the ST players suck

Ok we have improved the coaching. Now improve the ST talent. The problems were a combination of both.
